This is my late friend's engine that he built in ~1986 for his '69 coupe that's never been fired-up. It's an L71 "clone" with a 512, "CE", 427 block bored .030" over with '70 open chamber heads. It has this Engle, solid flat tappet cam (bottom photo). There was a family of mice living in the intake manifold when I got it. I pulled the heads, pan and oil pump and cleaned them up inside. It'll be both exciting and nerve-wracking as hell breaking it in. I'm no engine expert so I have no idea of what type of performance to expect.

My Dart 200 head 406. Old flat tappet circle track grind (292H) ground on a 108 CL.....KB pistons..10.5to1...Eagle crank and rods...ported Team G. Simple yet very effective. Never dyno'd it but I think somewhere around 490-510 seems about right with a torque curve as flat as Kansas. Wicked fun with the stock Muncie and 3:36 gear.
Please forgive my "early" build photo...many things have been cleaned up since this shot.
Thanks JB . Just need to run at sea level and I would be there
Your best ET to date is at a DA of 2751? I'd say in reasonable conditions, by my standards, of DA around 1000, you'd be in the 12.9 range for sure. That correction factor brings the DA down to zero, I believe. What is the actual elevation of your track? Try to get to the track with temp and humidity as low as possible and barometer high as possible. From a hot day in July to a cool day in October my ETs will drop 3-4 tenths.
