Re: Lets make the ULTIMATE member RESOURCE LIST.... (SuperFast80)
I was going to stay out of this since my only expertise is in how to catch the dreaded and almost fatal "while I'm at it " disease.
I think Superfast had the best of intentions and a very useful suggestion. He called it a Resourse List in the title, and as such it takes nothing away from anyone. It simply catalogs those who have already "been there and done that". Expert is probably a poor choice of badges, since in actuality there are probably very few on this forum. I would guess that in all cases, the questions or problems would be still be posted for all to read, respond to and learn from. It would however help some folks to have a list of others who had already done their particular project that could add some thoughts or precautions to save some skinned knuckles or bloody foreheads from beating their head against the wall. We all have seen cases where a question was posted and two days later the guy brings it back to the top without any real answers. It sure would make his life a lot simpler to be able to look at a list a find the help he needs. That said, more often than not, our help finds us and that's the real beauty of this forum.
Please folks, don't let this topic degenerate into something other that what it was original intended to accomplish.
Re: Lets make the ULTIMATE member RESOURCE LIST.... (Rolling Thunder)
OK, I softened up the language so it is clear that all I wanted to do is point out who is more 'experienced' in certain things than others....
Re: Lets make the ULTIMATE member RESOURCE LIST.... (Chuck Harmon)
I just thought of another catagory...retrofitting a Gen 4 cam into a Gen 6 block, add my name to that, also any catagories dealing with bbc build ups...tripower rebuilds, tuning the carbs

To all the experts, answer this one: I'm planning on taking the '76 down to Bowling Green, total distance 2200 Km's. My car runs fine, is there anything I ought to be worried about? Other then the price of gas :lolg:
Re: Lets make the ULTIMATE member RESOURCE LIST.... (Dwayne 76)
I'm happy to help with anything on a ZZ4 replacement and engine mods.
Excellent idea :yesnod:
Beyond that I'm sure you all have girlfriends or wives that like tanning.
I am more than happy to offer my lotions at 1/2 price to any Vette forum members http://www.radianceonline.com

Re: Lets make the ULTIMATE member RESOURCE LIST.... (Bob Turner)
UHHHH. Put me down for nothing. My brain has a sort of safety valve that blanks out when I do anything more than offer an opinion or state how I did something. :yesnod: :yesnod:

Not claiming to be an expert on anything, But I've been doing engines, carbs, driveability, and misc. restoration stuff (specializing in british cars - MG, Healey and E-types mostly on the restorations) professionally for 30 years. I also specialize in slide venturi carbs (S.U., Solex, VV Ford, etc.) for my SM side.

I'm doing the BG cruise as well, so my question is more a mathematical one. If Dwayne and I were to drive to B.G. together, would we a) be TWICE as likely to encounter mechanical problems, b) be HALF as likely to encounter mechanical problems, c) make it only as far as Casino Niagara, broke and down trodden but still able to appreciate the waitresses?
