Based on body style alone I vote C-5 hands down. I do not care for that distinct parting line running the length of the C-6 where the sides and hood/trunk area come together. Reminds me of one the shoe box looking Cadillacs. But I sure would like an LS-7 with the latest handling
package in my Coupe.

.....but I would buy another C5 and fix it up before I would buy a C6 - based strictly on styling (inside and out). As far as "warming up" to a C6 - I don't recall every getting more excited about the looks of a car after the initial impact. The C5 "keeps" me excited, but the first time I saw one, it was "love at first sight".
C5 was "love at first sight" for me as well. The C6 ZO6 was also the same. However the base C6 looks sterile on the interior especially the console & passenger side dash. I like the C6 headlights but that is the only exterior feature that I like. The back end is too short IMO, it took the styling cues from the C6 ZO6 to make it look right. In the words of Dave Hill, "The C5 was Revolutionary & the C6 is Evolutionary". C5's, as all breakthrough automobiles(looks & performance) will remain timeless IMO.

Default Dated design?

A resounding YES!
Much like a vintage Rolex watch.
The same as McIntosh stereo equipment.
About the same as a BMW R100RS motorcycle.(thannk U designer Hans Muth!)
And a bit like my gorgeous wife!!

All beautiful, classic designs, that will only improve their standing with a tincture of time,
and I'd have nothing but.....

I put the C5 in the same category as most Ferrari's as far as styling goes. They may get older, but the styling stays crisp and fresh.

The C5 is a timeless design from looks alone...Soft flowing lines without hard edges..The C6 starts out being aerodynamic in the front fenders and hood then from the doors to the back it gets hard edges and sharp creases...It's trying to be 2 styles in one...It's more refined from a technology standpoint but the styling sets it back..

Enterior yes. Exterior no. Even tho the body style has been out for some time it still looks good. However the interior feels very dated to me.

I don't think so yet. The C6 has a similar look to the C5, and I don't see the C5 looking like an "old" or "dated" style yet. Eventually it will though.

I cancelled my advance order of a C6 when I saw it in person. It is a nice design, but I would buy another C5 and fix it up before I would buy a C6 - based strictly on styling (inside and out). I see exotics over $150k that spin me around and I would own one if I had more money than God - just for a toy - but when money and a level of practicality are concerns, the C5 is the only car under $150k that makes the list for me.

C6 for handling and all around comfort. Now if the C5 handled and had as much noise reduction and power as a C6 then the C5

I think the C6 looks a bit more modern, maybe its because angular and edgy are in like the CTS, but the C5 looks sleek and curvy and looks better IMO. Plus with hidden headlights the C5 has a meaner, more stealthy look.

Actually, it's easy to spot the C-6's lineage from the C-5, I too, think the C-5 is timeless. I had a picture of one hanging in my classroom for the last six years. I just took it down 10 days ago when I brought mine home! I've admired this body for years!

Outstanding point.

Which would most people choose? If not for the stronger engine, I think the C5 would outsell the C6 3-to-1 if not more.

I wouldn't say its dated at all.

The comments I recieve most from non-owner friends on my 99 coupe: "Is that a new one?"

I don't think my C5 looks outdated, which is 1 reason I've resisted getting a C6 (that and a few thousand $). I like the way the C6 shows where it evolved from.

Heck I don't even think the 67 is dated, or the chrome bumper cars.

The other c3's yeah, but they are ALL still timeless.

The C5? not when I am rolling out on the highway. It is the best road handling car I have driven. The C6 is fantastic as well.

I still think the C6 is an updated C5. Compare the 53 and the 63 -- they are C1's?
