BTW...I think it would be great to see a nursing home with a parking lot full of Corvettes
Bet there wouldn't be many C4s in the parking lot. I love to watch "older" people get in and out of the C4s, it's hilarious. Some get in butt first, but my favorite is people that grab the top and pull themselves out!
Im' not getting old .... just closer to going home.....
But while I'm here yet I'm going to like there's no tommorrow. Two vettes in the garage and frequently three. Just need more time to spend with em.....
all you young guys out there - please don't buy into this thing about how great your golden years will be - sure if you get lucky & retire you might not have to drag out of bed in the AM and head to work - my feet hurt - my back hurt - i have half the hair i use to have - my ***** takes much more time off then he use to - even have to buy him a special pill to keep him happy - hair grows like wild fire in my ears - well thats about all i have to say about that - t
PS one good thing - my insurance is only $234.00 for 6 mo's for my 02 - so i guess the above is all worth it
You think it's bad now. Wait until your as old as my parents, and I'm 65. You ain't seen nothing yet.
I got my first Vette an '88 when I retired at 56 I now have a '00 convertible and will be 65 in September. Sure I have aches and pains but everything still works pretty good and I can get in my car and go for a drive whenever I feel like it. I do not have to wait till work is over, I do not have to wait for the weekend. Guess getting old does have it's benefits
Oh hell, I'm 55 and I'm enjoying life. I work hard so that I can enjoy the finer things, like our 2 Vettes. ***** just doesn't get used as much as he used to but still salutes ok. Enjoy life and stop thinking you're getting old. Party until you die!
Retired eight yrs ago at 55. Here's my schedule: 1 hr in the gym Mon. - Fri. Coffee w/friends afterwards; lunch w/GF; a nap every afternoon and off to bed at 11. Go dancing every Friday night for 4 - 5 hrs. Chores and a movie on Sat. A pleasant drive around the island and a nice dinner on Sunday. All activities that require being on the road are done in my Vette. (Off course ...) Vacations where-ever and when-ever I can. And - SURPRISE! My life does NOT revolve arond my Vette.
There's no need to be afraid of old age if you are prepared for it. BTW: You've "earned" the right to be fat, bald, in pain and out of shape. ENJOY!!! As for the "pill"; hey, if it floats your boat - go fishing......
DO NOT go quietly into the night, but laughing, kicking and screaming, "What a ride!"
I guess I'm still young, 51 and it's all good. Yep, back hurts sometimes, but it did when I was 20. Hair growing out almost every hole, just lets me buy new toys that take power to run. Driving a fun car with the top down going a wee bit too fast. Drinking a nice bottle of wine I was smart enough to buy and put down when I was 40.
It's all good, it could end tomorrow, I want to enjoy it while I can.

I was asked by son one day, what does it feel like to be older. I think he meant Old. I told him, now I keep a pair of glasses nailed to every wall in the house, I have a gas powered nose hair trimmer, I have to rest after putting my socks on, sometimes during sex I wake up, I now fart when I pee and sometimes I pee when I fart. Oh yeah, 10years ago, I drove a beatup truck, today I drive a nice shiny C5 Corvette. What does it feel like getting old, it feels fun.

I'm happy to report... I can NOT feel your pain
Don't worry... we'll all get there.... someday... a long time from now.... a really, really long time.... and when we do... we'll have forgotten about your thread anyway
Age does suck, but every day I get up and suck air it is a great start. Have to fight the traffic daily in the DD. (04 CE MN6) When the old bones creak and ache I just suffer and drive the Vert (06 A6) Just can't understand why I'm the first to work and first to leave.... Lovin life and retired in '86. Still "Will Work for Toys"
I completely retired in April at the tender age of 58 and I'm having the time of my life. The only decisions I have to make is what I want for breakfast or if I should have a beer or Bloody Mary with lunch. Even though I have some aches and pains, it sure beats the other option. I walk 3-4 miles a day, which helps me stay in shape. I've decided to enjoy life as much as possible while I still have my health. There are no guarantees. LIFE IS GOOD!
I still get a laugh out of parking in a handicap spot in my Vette and
getting my walker out of the back and just enjoying the look on
peoples faces.............
Life ain't over til it's over
Awesome..actually wondered myself about such a situation
existing...and wow..you're the proof...if I am ever in Thousand
Oaks will keep a lookout for your car...in the handicap spot..
