You will be ok for the blue LEDs. The red LEDs may need to be changed.
The resistor values suggested by most online vendors are too low in my opinion. The vendors tend to use 12v as the operating voltage for the electrical system. However, the systems is actually closer to a nominal 13.8v.
I had calculated the resistor value needed before ordering when I did my car. The formula is
((system voltage)-(LED operating voltage))/(typical forward current)= resistor value
For a white LED this would be as follows
(13.8v-3.5v)/.02A=515 ohm
Blue is the same as white LEDs.
For red the correct resistor is
(13.8v-2.3v)/.02A= 575 ohm
Hope this helps.
Gary
Phew, that is a relief! Thanks Gary for the help, explanation and good news! I was seriously bummed when I realized I did that. Won't be too bad redoing just the two red ones!
Now onto the radio and I'll be done!
What did you use to secure the foil to the plastic light guard?

I replaced the factory radio with an aftermarket system.
Has anyone attempted an LED cluster yet? These LEDs look really great in the buttons, *****, and switches, but I'd love to see a cluster with C6 brightness and crispness to match. The El-Glo gauges are close, but I don't love the bold font. The stock Z06 font is wonderful, just woefully dim from the factory.

Someone would have to build the cluster with LED's because the factory cluster does not use any bulbs behind the cluster... Its lit up by black light tubes on the sides of the cluster...
I have had this mod done for about 2.5 years and my LEDs are starting to go out . I have about 3 to 4 burnt out on my HVAC display, 1 out on my driver side functions, 1 out on the HUD button display and my T/C one is out.
I put together some pics of various points of the install.
Here are some details on what I did. I did not take a ton of pics but here are some I did take.
Me trying not to scratch anything taking the dash apart...
I think this was one of the door switches (pass). You can see the soldering that had to be done directly onto the board.
This is the HVAC. You can see the 11x Warm White LED's. If you look closely you can see the 2x I have for the fan speed. One points up a little and the other points down. Really filled in that light behind that button. I also have RED, and BLUE LED's for the hot/cold dials.
This is the Radio. The resistors have to be oriented a specific way or the buttons will not work once its put back together.
I wrapped the Blue sheet with Aluminum tape to help reflect the LED's light. Its not in the picture, but I also aluminum tape wrapped the wave guide that goes in the top right, and the one on the left.
This part of the Radio I lined the plate with Aluminum foil to also help with light reflectance.
This is the LED board on the passenger side of the rear view mirror. Each side of the mirror has a small board with 6x 5mm LED's on it. No need for resistors here. Just put in new LED's.
I wrapped the traction control wave guide with Aluminum foil tape.
This is the traction control board with the new LED's mounted.
Here is the other side of the traction control unit where the LED's solder to the board.
This is the Trunk/Fog light board. I put 2x LED's in a single spot to help get more light in there. 1 LED was not enough.
Here is a close up of the 16 SMT LED board I installed under the hood. Its designed for 12v so no resistor required. I just installed some female spade clips to the red/black wires and connected it to the + and - in the housing.
sounds like its exactly what i want to do to bad the pics are not up?
i have decided to go ahead and go the cheaper way and just buy LEDs and resistors.
i pretty much know what sizes and resistors i need, thanks to torque! and tstar!
but this thread is pretty old so im wondering were you guys are getting your leds for the best bang for the buck.
i wanted to try oznium but im trying to follow Torques guide and they do not sale the "warm white" LEDs that i need for the HVAC and radio"
thanks guys

If you want to look at mine in person, just let me know. I did my interior in the cool white LEDs.
hating the radio's tiny little screws! they are sooo tiny,
autozone,
radioshack,
hobby shop,
nothing, will try home depot, if someone knows the part-number or link of a kit it will work it, be greatly appreciated!

If I remember correctly to open the radio a T10 or T15 torx bit and 1/8 inch nut driver are required. The rest of the radio should be the same nut driver.

I believe Lowes has a kobalt nut-driver kit that has the size needed.
i have the electrochromatic mirror in my z06 and i just replaced the leds with bright white ones. when i plugged it into the car, only the middle row of lights on each side light up. i have checked the polarity over and over so that isn't the issue. does anyone have any suggestions to get the outer rows to light up?
thanks,
dave

When the engine is on all of the LED's will light up. With it off only the middle rows will light up. This is due to the voltage required by each white (or blue) LED to turn on. Each LED needs 3.5v to turn on.
With just the battery voltage you have approximately 12.6 to 12.8v to power up the LED circuits. With the engine on you have around 14v.
The mix of green and yellow LEDs used by GM in the mirror require a bit less voltage to turn on that is why they were used.
