Notee: Halos will NOT be an option for the remaining kits. Those in the GP spot saver who ordered them will still get theirs, but they will not be available in the main production run.
George, nice job. I am curious why you are scrapping the halo's though.
Clearance and mounting issues. To get proper clearance, i have to remove the fragile CCFL glass tubes from the protective plastic casings. The only way to adheree them to the projector is to use high temp silicone adhesive.

What a pain in the @$$. What knd of warranty are you giving on these babies?
RF, when do you plan on shipping these first few out?
Saturday is the plan. Today i make sure everything works/fits together then box them up. They will go out tomorrow and i will send out tracking information via email or PM.
well stupid me, UPS does not ship out on saturday. This will give me time to find adiquate packing instead of just throwing some cardboard together. (something I overlooked beeing obsessed with the lights themselves)
Last-minute design change: I planned to use 10-32 mounting bolts but found something interesting. When using the drill to install the locking nuts, the nylon heats up so much it melts to the bolt, making both nut and bolt worthless and the bolt has to be cut off so a new one can be mounted.
This ONLY happens with the 10-32 thread....the original prototype used a 10-24 thread which doesn't have this problem. For this reason, i will bee using 10-24 mounting bolts/nuts for the all production models including the GP spot saver kits which will go out monday (no exceptions).
Is it possible to lightly tint the inside of the glass?
Would the lights (heat) melt the tint?
I have a black C5Z, wondering if it's possible to tint, then it might be a win situation in my case.
If you're talking about the main lens, the best i'd advise is to paint a deep eyebrow. This is something i plan to do on my car when i get an extra set of lenses and shrouds in stock. I do not advise tinting any area where light is supposed to exit the projector or lens as a) this would decrease output and b) it might melt the tint.
OK, don't frost mine, if you haven't already. I'm going to find that mylar (or how ever you spell it) looking, reflective tape and put that down under the bulb in the affected area.

Yes I was referring to the whole clear lens.
Ok, I understand.
Thanks for getting back to me.
