If you're referring to the GP spot saver list, there's only one person on it so far: "ssmith512"

1. Members will put non-refundable $500 down to reserve a spot in the first GP. Those with a deposit will receive priority when the GP officially begins and the deposit will be deducted from the total price of the headlight kit.

The advantages are:
a) garuntee yourself a spot in the first production run.
b) Discount off the final price of the kit (price is TBA...and discount will most likely be 10% off that price)

Domestic Shipping costs will be included in the kit.

Note to foreign customers: Due to the nature of the projectors used in this kit, They are not legal for RHD applications. I will look into options for modifying them for RHD after the original kit has been completed.

This looks really really nice! You do great work George! If I didn't just buy an HID Fog Light kit for my Z06 from you, I'd be jumping on the GP spot saver list...

I would surmise that most people (myself included) are not willing to put up a large non-refundable deposit when the final price may vary by 50%. At $1000 I am very interested. At $1500 I would have to reconsider.

George, I would love to get in on the first run as I think these puppies are really coming along nicely, but I am very **** and want to see the shroud before shuffling out $500.00. Anyway we can extend the Buy In until at least the prototype shroud is made? I do agree with doje that it's hard to commit to something when the price is still up in the air. Man I can't wait to see the end result!

I understand the frustration you guys are feeling about the variability of the final price so here's what I'll do.

By monday evening, i should have both the shroud mold finished and the final price for the base kit (option packages are TBA)

I will extend thee Spot saver program to Friday the 23rd. This way i can get an idea of how many sets i will need to order and i can start talking to my suppliers about quantity amounts.

Man,I'm pretty sure you can put my name on this list. We talked about these for quite a while as I'm sure you remember. Just waiting to see a price and the finished shroud.

Also,am I correct in understanding that you can't keep DRL with this kit?

Default Excellent!

George, thanks for the extension. Hopefully, you will have a better idea on price as well. Really, like what your doing and want to be part of the initial order.

I'm a business person and like data so I at least have a chance to make the right decision. Based on your past products I'm sure the look and performance are going to be great. Depending on price I feel there will be a solid long term demand.

Getting a better look at the product, your being able to be close on the price, and knowing the percentage discount will enable me to do that.

I also feel pretty certain that as in most first time development processes improvements and upgrades are part of the natural process. That is always part of being the first to buy.

WOOT!! WOOT!!

Jump on this deal folks. There should be no question of George's quality and attention to detail. These things will be right from day one. Jump on his offer for a first run discount. Maybe if we get enough on-board we can convince him to give us first run customers a BIG discount!!

The DRL is in the corner lights and is not affected by the installation of this kit.

I had some extra time today so I went to the shop to work on the shroud design. I was originally going to do a simple circular cutout, but i decided to take the opprotunity to try something a little more unique.

The PVC is part of the substructure for the fiberglass that will be the mold.

The "tubing" does not affect the width of the output:

Today I was able to do stage 1 of the fiberglass shroud mold. This comprised of a simple single layer 2-coat of fiberglass resin over a fleece cover.

Here’s the first coat

Once it hardened I cut out the holes for the projectors. This is pretty close to what the final design will look like.

The mold itself will not fit mounted long with the projectors since the inner structure doesn’t have enough clearance for the projectors, however the Thermoformed shroud will have PLENTY of clearance.

These pics show just how low profile the lights are. They hug the contours of the car very nicely.

For stage 2, I will use bondo as a filler material to smooth out the lines of the mold then lots of sanding. This shouldn’t take more than a few hours.

For the final stage, I will mount the existing mold on a slab of MDF with strategically drilled holes for thermoforming. I then plan to apply a layer of fiberglass mat over the entire piece and down to the MDF base. I will probably use about 3-4 coats of resin followed by a little light sanding to smooth out the top will make it ready to use as a mold.

If everything goes according to plan, I will have the molds finished and ready for use by Tuesday. (fingers crossed)

WOW! That looks like crap!!! LOL!!

J/K!!!

Seriously, I am quite impressed with not only the design, but your progress. I fully expected this to take much longer. Mucho kudo's to you!

Cant wait to get my set! Already got the Electron Blue paint ready to paint the shrouds to match the car. My car is gonna be the NEW HOTNESS!!!
