Rick, nothing on this planet looks like this...and as I've said many times, I like it. It's just on the good side of being over the top for my taste. Its like being top dead center, ( a good thing ) wound perfectly tight. Any more and it could break. like the fine strings on a violin. And there is no doubt its a C5.

They HAVE to buy C7's....there isn't enough C5's to go around for everyone. It's been refined so much to resemble all it's other competitors....there's virtually a seamless flow from Celica to the Aztec. Which is basically how it was conceived and built by those involved with it's design. LOL.
From a Designers viewpoint if all Engineers and Designers built a car with the best attributes of all vehicles....they end up looking the same no matter which team did it. The cars in the C7 market basically all resemble each other(Viper, yada, yada, yada).
NO MISTAKING THIS.....
This car might be the most striking C5 I have ever seen. Thanks to the Owner for adding this beauty to our world. Jim
Do you guys feel a Ferrari F12 also blends into traffic?
In general, I have not been a fan of most Ferrari models in recent decades. This car illustrates why. While the overall shape is very compelling (as is the C7---see overlay), it has those goofy styling flourishes on the fender and door and *** end that turn beautiful into mediocre imo.
I much prefer the Ferrari 599. It has fewer ruffles and flourishes than the F12 and C7.
It still doesn't do for me what '60s and '70s Ferraris do. It's all moot, though. I'm just an ordinary Joe and I'll never own any of these cars.
I have a feeling (and some hopes) that the new C7 ZO6 will bear the same relationship to the base C7 that your car does to the base C5. We will find out tomorrow...
Some lines are times like the c5. I also had a 69 chevelle ss396 that has timeless lines. Many youngsters would comment on how they like it even though they didn't know what it was.
My c5 is only worth about 18,000$ but if I put another 50,000$ into it I think it would be much better than the c7. Just my oppinion.
According to United States Marine Corps legend, the moniker was used by German soldiers to describe U.S. Marines who fought in the Battle of Belleau Wood in 1918. The Marines fought with such ferocity that they were likened to "Dogs from Hell."
On the other hand we do have the alternative meaning, similar to Ding Dong or Twinkie.
Rick, I do not think you could pull that car off as well in any other color. Beautiful !!!
I've always thought this particular car is an example of everything coming together perfectly. Any other colors and it just would have been interesting.

You are correct. The Germans called the Marines "Teufel Hunden" which I believe translates to "dogs from hell."
Ran across more than one "ding dong" in my time in the Corps. Conversely, I did for a time have a boss who was fond of referring to me occasionally as "Butthead." He's the current Commandant of the Marine Corps....
I do like the C7, but it's never going to be the car my C5 is.
I even plan to get a used C7 Convertible in Red on Red in the coming years, but only after my sweet C5 coupe gets gingerly put away and retired from daily duty when I get older and not so addicted to power.
Calm down, it'll be ok. No reason to be so angry. I didn't think what he said was that bad. I guess I am not allowed to comment though since I work in an office and I am younger than you. My parents must be extremely ashamed of me.
I'm with you 100% Black o2, I'm not allowed to comment either and I'm 66 years old! Some one on here is above us "peons" and cannot be questioned by us lowlifes.
My first sighting of C7 was unimpressive to say the least.
BUT
After seeing the ground effects, and the New grill detail with scoops blacked out and the rear spoiler, I would love to see the wind tunnel numbers. I have to say with the New technology, a super strong chassis,( 60% stronger than any previous chassis ) even with the top off its 20 % stronger than a fixed roof C6 Z06, and that world class engine, that can run 4, 6 or 8 cylinders boosted. Seven speed manual or 8 speed auto paddle, claimed to be the best in the world. I have to say that GM brought me back. The interior was always nice, Its still Euro looking but it's beginning to move my soul. The Stock C7 still does little for me, but the Zo6 like the C6 Z06 are completely different animals. The C7 Z is a serious world class automobile. It's the whole package that works for me. I was not impressed with the standard C7 , but the whole Z06 package is a different concept. Its low to the ground, a big deal for me.. its still not a Beach boys kind of car, but then its not the 60's and 70's either. IM sad that automotive design has moved away from the American Muscle look in favor of the exotic look, after all for 50 years it was American muscle. The bottom line is its still a Corvette. and the C7 Z06 does make me proud. Just like my first sighting of the C7 was an honest perception. so is my first impression of the C7 Z

Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
