you must be laughing at yourself.. nice back peddling, a simple thank you for explaining the definition would have been much better,,,which you obviously did not know.
You said 130K was a high water mark for super cars.
130K is a very low water mark for a super car..
I don't know of another super car that can come close to this low water mark.
Now if you are talking a bout regular production cars like a Dodge RT, or a Mustang Cobra.. they are not super cars. Not in the same league
The F12 at 300,000 + dollars is a high water mark compared to the C7 Z06.
Got it ?
In the realm of super cars in the 300,000 to 1 million dollar range they represent the high water marks. while there are a dozen or so cars that are above the 1 million dollar range in cost.
There is a 45 year old corvette that just sold, which set the high water mark @ 3.4 million dollars, for any used Corvette.

Nothing could be further from the truth than saying a C7 Z06 sets any kind of high water mark other than the C7 sets the high water mark for any GM production vehicle to date.
Wow, you crack me up. You seem to take EVERYTHING I say wrong, I'll stay out of your threads.
I laugh at everything, it's a better way to go through life. I would suggest you try it, but I don't want to offend you in any way by pushing my happy lifestyle on you.

Uh oh, somebody is going to get added to the ignore list!

What he meant is that it sets the bar high regarding performance/value for other supercar manufacturers, not that it comes at a high price point. No disrespect meant, but you tore into 66dts-v pretty hard for your misunderstanding.
The C6Z looks to be a monster, and would be an amazing value at anything <100k. With the advances in technology displayed on this car, it really shows GM is capable of competing and surpassing the other manufacturers while maintaining their same price range. I may not like the tail lights (although they don't look so bad on the Z), but I do like the direction Corvette is going.
Frank, when children grow up and some never do. They usually say something like wow Dad you were/are a lot smarter than I ever thought your were when I was a kid. The kids in this thread are not worthy to carry our life's lesson tool bag, let alone our jock strap.
I respect your contributions to the CF community, however many of the last threads, and post I've read of yours seem very hostile in nature. Perhaps it's always been this way and I've just started picking up on it.
It saddens me that someone with so much knowledge has so much built up hostility.
Evil Twin voiced an interesting observation. The C7 is not a Beach Boys type of car. I think he is right. And, that brilliant statement kinda sums up the C5 era.
Two days ago I drove out to LAX to pick up the wife outside Terminal 6 Customs. While sitting there with the top down, a guy of about 40 and his two young kids walked by and they all started singing "Little Red Corvette." It was a fun moment for all.
I'm not even sure whether or not the C6 fits that song, but the C7 simply doesn't. And, that's not a bad thing.
New songs will have to be written, and yes, I will definitely own a C7 or C7 ZO6 in the future. But the Little Red Corvette will likely always be in our lives.
And yes, let's all try to keep our sense of humor. People are more important than cars ... but maybe only slightly so.
Interesting. I really only think of C1's as 'Beach Boys' types of cars. Maybe C2 convertibles, but definitely not a C5. Half of the group was dead when the C5 was produced.

Honestly - I agree with Bill. I love the stance and style of the C5. I love my FRC. The C7 hasn't done it for me yet. It might grow on me over the years but right now - I'll stick with what I have.
I was trying to hold on to the forum to help me with my sanity, but obviously I cant. Many who are close to me here know that I have cancer and for all the time I've spent in the hospital this year in critical care, and the surgeries I've had, I thank those who emailed me or texted me or called me. I am heavily medicated. I apologize to the forum and Ill will now bow out. it has always been my pleasure to try to help people on this forum but for some reason or maybe it s the medication, people seem to be kicking me more than ever and now that IM down I'm lashing back more than I ever have.
I hope the forum lives forever, I also hope I can get another chance to drive my car. My wife has been driving me around. I saw that C7 while in the passengers seat of my wife's car. My car has been tucked away in the garage.

When you get on a public forum you never know the things that people are dealing with privately, So you should take things with a grain of salt and be more tolerant of other people's opinion. I don't mean to preach to the forum because i can be just as bad. It is sad though people do come down on one other. ET has helped many many people for year's on this site and I am one of them. That name evil-twin should have bin a clue to what you would get. Sorry to rant but I felt I needed to say something.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
