I dont think theres any farrari owners that look at a Z06 and say oh what a pos- because of the ultimate pkg listed above. They might think oh its not as fast as they are but they would not think its a pos.

Since we're fantasy-keyboard racing in this thread, here's a challenge for the non-Corvette owners posting here:
This car is cheaper than any import or Z06, and easily beats them all. Find a faster car than this one:
0-1320 in 3.9 seconds @ 248 MPH. No Skyline, Supra, MR2, etc., can touch it. I can play this card as we're doing fantasy keyboard racing, so all that's needed is four wheels and a real vehicle.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with Nissan, Toyota, Honda, Porsche, Ferrari, etc. They all have their strengths, weaknesses, and cost factors. I'll be the first to admit that the Z06 can't win a title in professional road racing (GM needs to give Dave Farmer et al some funding to compete with Audi, Acura, Porsche, Saleen, BMW).
Nevertheless, for a car you can drive every day, there is no better car than the Z06 in terms of performance, looks, practicality, and driving pleasure for the money. Today I was out claying and Zaino'ing our Z06, and strangers walk+drive by saying how much they love the car. Even the average person appreciates the Corvette Heritage and Z06 looks/performance in ways other cars can't compete. Ever. {unless they build a time machine and change history}.
Non-Corvette owners, do you ever ask yourself why you feel the need to post here and what you are trying to prove? :leaving:

Where not here to prove anything. Where just here to have some insight on how people think about other cars. As I see most people here are narrow minded, and clueless when it comes to other cars. They fail to see there are other cars worthy of competition. If it weren't for other cars the vette wouldn't be where it is today.

"Hey guys, I'm a car enthusiast and I'd like to know how the Z06 compares to car XXX in terms of looks, acceleration, handling, braking, engine/exhaust sound, fuel economy, relability, etc."
This will get you polite, well-informed answers. Ignore the harsh posts by the few closed-minded posters.
When you post something like:
"Hey, this XXX import car is way better than a Z06..." will get you very little useful information as such statements are argumentative.
Everyone here truly appreciates other sports cars. There is, however, a slight bias towards the Z06 Corvette ;) .
Pretty much everyone here drove other cars, including imports, before being able to obtain a Z06. I appreciate each and every car for what it is. :steering:

Both cars are real "Z06 Killers" and cost less. So what if they are considered ugly, junky cars, they are in fact, faster. You can change your argument to looks, handling, prestige, and so on, but the Z06 is still slower: this thread is "Z06 Killer".
I drive a 2002 Z06 and simulate the C5R on the computer. It's OK to respect and admire other cars. :cheers:

2450 lb. Shelby Cobra with (1,500) 600 CID Direct Port and Throttle Body Hemi. Runs low 8's on street tires and pulls over a G at the track. Great for not only flying rice, but crotch rockets as well. The last GSXR that I raced: While at the light, I had to tell him move over futher in the other lane, before I ran his but over. Fun car, but then again not everyone wants listen to 5.5" pipes, rattle their teeth and smell like smoke.
Its all physics, Light car, strong motor, hook up. Oh, And the driver.
The Z is best OVERALL perrformance sport car I have every owned and I have owned over 15M in cars. My ZR-1 was next.

Have any pics of the cobra- my cousin has one- he only has about 500hp or so in it but it runs low 10's. Its one cool looking car- I almost bought it from him a few months ago- but I was broke after buying the Z :D

So whats your point? To me the Z06 is not an attractive car. Yea it's the best looking AMERICAN today but most of the styling can be contributed to Japanese or European styling. The butt of the car is to huge to compliment the body. And there is no technology in the car either, utilizing the same ohv that they been using for years. And to take a 1990 4 dour 4 cyl.and push it to power levels exceeding the vette with minor bolt on's on a stock block is impressive. If a 13 year old car can do this what does this say about your cars with 3 times the liter and twice the displacement makes you wonder HEY? Another point, the lancer is coming down wit 280 hp all wheel drive and 280 torque utilizing the same motor as the galant. These cars run high 12's stock low 13's stock so with a good launch and an experienced driver these cars are capable of beating you stock.
Also, why do these post that talk about Japanese cars attract so many "Jr" members that can't spell? :confused:

Oh and CPT, you gotta get the numbers striaght. It's the POS, DOHC, turbocharged and intercooled Mitsubishi 195hp "God of technology" engine that gets the dismal 25mpg. The old as a dinosaur, OHV 405hp Chevy engine gets 28mpg :lol:

The funny thing is is that the reason these marvels of technology have not hit our shores is because of emmisions. They would have to reduce the power/boost to get the emmisions down. That is why you always see these cars over there with the power and they loose it when they come over here. They simply don't have the technology to get the power out of the 4 banger AND keep the emissions in check.

I looked out on the internet to find out what a BPU MR2 makes...
Here is an example...
The car has basic mods like a A'PEX Power Intake, Twosrus manual boost controller, and HKS Hiper exhaust. It was dynoed at 15psi.
Future mods are a CT20B turbo, Spearco Intercooler, Greddy Profec B, and a KO Racing Downpipe. The CT20B turbo and the KO Racing Downpipe are sitting at home waiting to be installed.
Here is the amazing 195HP dyno graph...
And, here is the top 1/4 times page from the mr2 forum. Gee, there are two Heavily modded MR2s in the U.S. that are faster than my stock z06. I am so completely impressed...
