Hey all, for those watching. No work this week. My new slave cylinder (and fuel level sensor) came in on Monday night, but we're coming down to the wire with the impending kiddo (wife is 35 weeks) and I am spending this week refinishing our crib. Plus we're going to Columbus MS this weekend to see a good friend in pilot training. Next week I'm hoping to attack it something fierce as we should just about have the baby's room done then.

Enjoy the time off as you'll need it. I've got a few things to take care of on mine and then it's break time.
Do the words "spare, me, time, I" ever appear in the same sentance when you refer to yourself you certainly have your hands full, baby's room, car not cooperating, and my wife when she was pregnant was just bundle of laughs I'm sure yours wants to hear about the car(HA HA) good luck,Dude when you kid is born and the car running it'll all be worth it,hang in there!!
Can I borrow some motivation from someone. Or some time?? Please?? /sarcasm
Still no time. I ended up spending all day yesterday at work, and then found out that one of my tankers and two fighters in the package I launched yesterday turned around and RTB'd for issues, and so I sit here halfway through sunday at work too. So, between that and 2x nightly visits to the L&D for monitoring for wife/baby, I have time for jack. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to at the very least get the car put back together prior to the kiddo making his appearance, but even now I'm skeptical of that happening.

I think the rule goes something like Family - Work - Play...the play part falls under anything you enjoy or do to find joy. The vett isn't going anywhere and will wait until you can fit it in. Hang in there..
I´m a swedish guy that bought a new 377 LS3 with T56 about 6 month ago from Ron Sessions at regalperformance or as the name was before streetrodengines.
And i have experince exactly the same problem as you have with engine vibrations! I have tried to balance the new flywheel and pressureplate that came with the motor in a workshoop, i have bought another set of complett clutch. But still the engine vibs when i revs up and down, it fells in the seat and sterring wheel and i´m going crazy.
Then i gooogle on ls3 engine vibs and i saw your thread and it was spoot on exactly the same problem like me. I´ve tryed with different software but still it vibs. I´ve also checked the pilotbearing but ok. I havent drived the car yet bacause i dont dare, it feels like i´m going to bloow up the engine. Now i don´t know what to do anymore. Ron at regalperformance says ok to send the motor back, for him to check it out, but it is very expensive ship from Sweden!!

What's the rest of your setup??? Are you running a FI setup like I am?

No, just a tougher cam. But i don´t have a corvette i have a camaro SS
-99 with T56 tranny and a GM 12bolt rear end. I have tried everything now. Next step is to take out the motor and balance the crankshaft, flywheel, pressureplate and vibdamper all together in a specialized workshoop. But right now i´m so tired of this project( incl my wife and children) so maybe i do this in wintertime nov-may period.

Have you check your area to see if someone has balancing equipment that would allow you to balance the engine in the vehicle? Same equipment is used for aircraft prop/engine balancing. Most imbalance issues can be corrected without taking the engine out using the right equipment.

I´ve never heard about this way to atttack missbalance in car engines.
But it sounds very good, because it´s very tight in the engineroom and
very tough job to take the engine out. Thank you for the suggestion!
Ok, finally found some time. Driveline is in, just needs rear suspension bolted up. NO PINCHED LINES THIS TIME! Yaay.
Should be back together by the end of the weekend. Have some tunnel clearancing to do still, but that's it. Should be a straight forward install from this point on.
Oh I KNEW this was going to happen. I told my wife on Wednesday night after I put the driveline back in as we were walking around Wal-Mart "You watch. Now that I started working on the car again, the kids going to come and put a stop to me finishing it up."
I just got a phone call, and her first words "I don't think you're going to be working on the car this weekend. I'm pretty sure I'm in early labor right now."

For being foiled yet again.
For what's about to happen.
Brother with four kids of my own, please take the time to stop and enjoy the journey. Welcome your child into the world and enjoy the time, they grow up way too fast.
The car will be there, your newborn will only go around life once. Miss as little as possible. Nothing better then fatherhood.
Congrats and blessings to you and your family, i hope mother and child are healthy.

Oh that's priority number one. My family is first and foremost.
However.........at her urging (I think to get my bouncing off the wall **** out of her general area), I got some time in on the car today. She was at 10 mins when I got home, averaging 7 now and trying to take a nap and rest up.
So, I've got the driveline bolted back in, the tunnel plate back in, got a little bit of tranny tunnel clearancing done (I really need a ball peen hammer and a stronger torch), and gave up trying to get the slave line reconnected. It didn't want to go so I called that my sign to quit.
Ok, getting settled in with the newborn, getting into a good daily routine (bottle at about noon = about a 5-6 hour nap unless we wake for feeding, which = more napping). This means I've been green lighted (thanks honey) for sporadically working on the car again. That said, I'm hoping to start using a BFH today on the tunnel.
But guys, riddle me this as it's been bothering me. WHY would the motor suddenly sit higher with the replacement of the LS1 by the LS3 short block / 317 heads that are actually sitting a tad lower with the decking and cometic head gaskets???? There wasn't any rubbing on the tunnel before, but there is now and it's perplexing to me.
I've checked both motor mounts and they're both sitting properly in the alignment notches on the cradle and flush with the mounting plates, and the mp's are both flush with the block too.
I simply can NOT catch one single break. So I get the slave cylinder connected after some finagling, got the lower bell housing on, the newfound clearance on the tranny tunnel seemed like it's enough, and as I'm going to attach the downpipe to the drivers side turbo, I notice it....
A puddle under the car. Clear fluid. DOT3 at that. Pop the lower bellhousing, and yup.....there's a leak. Get my wife out real quick to have a look, and the crush washer for the remote bleeder didn't seal.
So now, AGAIN, I have to drop the driveline. Only this time I get to do the epic struggle of disconnecting the slave cylinder quick fitting again.
I can't take this anymore. Anyone want to buy a 90% completed car that should turn around 650-700 RWHP with stock driveability when it's done????
*Edit* Do you think it's possible to pull the driveline back enough to unbolt and rotate the slave cylinder to where I can access the remote bleeder connection without disconnecting the quick fitting for the slave?
