I was down at the Rite Aid Drugs Store and bought some baloons(your choice of colors).I cut the solid end off and pulled them over the connections after I cleaned the connectors. They fit real snug and I don't think water will seep in between the connector and the ballon.Total cost $1.50.I hated to spend the buck and a half ,BUT-----
Bill,
Where can I get a good manual such as the one that you have shown with the ground points. I'm having FOB, BCM and other problems probably related to a poor ground. Does the manual state which of the ground points are terminals or connectors?
I found the frame rail ground connections. They were not that dirty. Is ground point 202 in the passenger toe board compartment by the fuse panel and BCM?
Having some problems described here with my 2002 convertivble 6-speed. Yesterday my drivers side controls quit working. gages pegged out, reduced eningine power, service vehicle soon, low fuel, air bag light traction control light.
I read your post on cleaning the gronds but the pictures are not loading.
Woa...I think I have the grounding problem big time. Been getting a rash of random codes. Service Active Handling, Service ABS, Service Traction Control, Reduced Engine Power, Low Tire Pressure...heck, you name it.
Bill's info is just what I needed to hear but the pics are gone now - just Red Xs. I sent you an email Bill, can you update this post or send me some details, pics, or whatever so I can work on this?

the pictures that Bill originally posted will no longer open. guess they timed out. sure would be great if all this was in tech tips. thanks again Bill for your information.
My 98 suddenly started acting up, battery voltage 13v, DIC reads 11
Hood lamp flashes Monitored load relay clicks, and interior lights flash,
starter just clicks, then after a few trys, it starts, but relay and lights still flash.
Won't stay running. I cleaned battery cables and tightened them, unscrewed ground bolts and cleaned. Where are the chassis ground connectors located.
the marine stores sell a couple of products in a spray can, some of it is called corosen block this is a penitrating dielectric which leaves a good amount of protection on the wires. I use this stuff in my offshore boat and it even works where the salt water is spashing on the componets but needs to be replaced once a year in that application, on the C5 grounds 1 application should do it.
Bill; I had that same fuel sending unit problem last fall. I put a can of B-12 fuel system cleaner ( Wallmart ) in with a full tank -- let it set for 10 days -- fixed the issue. Before it would run down to about half a tank and go to 0.Of course then all the low fuel lights would come on. It did that for every tank ( approx 20 ) and never since. Maybe worth a try.Great post on the grounds! Thanks!
Bill, the first thing I did after reading your original post was check and clean all of the grounds... sure enough I found enough corrosion to convince me if it wasn't yet a problem, it soon would be...
Pictures vanished again! Or at least i can't view them. I am going to try to find the grounds tonight. I get the 11 volts indicated from the battery and 13v when running. I also had the fuel gage problem a while back. Doubt that this is a problem that can fix my radio but the reception is terrible. I guess if it had low voltage getting to it that would cause that.
Anyone explain where the grounds are for me so i don't look for hours and find nothing? Thanks everyone,
Bret
