I'm thinking of putting mine down too very soon. Just got a pretty decent raise at work this week and I'm thinking I can keep my C5Z and have a C7 too.
I can argue that all those C6's on the dealer's lots will tend to hold down prices on C7's. If the left over C6's are heavily discounted and the price differential becomes to high between the left over C6's and the new C7's some people will pass on the C7 and grab up a C6 as they know the C7's value as a used car will drop significantly as they drive it off the lot. People that were considering buying a C7 but purchase a left over C6's decrease the demand for the C7, which can cause dealers to drop C7's asking prices in order to get people to buy a C7 vs a left over C6..

Who in their right mind would be buying an obsolete car? I think dealers will be throwing in a complimentary C6 with each C7 purchase

Regardless, I'm already sold on the C7.
Just do your homework to get the best price/service.

Crazy how many C6's are left over and the rebates they are offering.
When a person can get a new C6 with 430 HP for at or under 40k, makes a person want to go that route....but then again, your resale is lower than that of a C7 as well.

I believe one dealer was selling base C6's with zero options for around $35,000 not too long ago.
I remember that too.. even tried a search, with no luck. He said something like "I can tell you it will be less than 472 hp" with a wink, thumbs up or some other emoticon.
I wish I could remember the title of the thread - I *think* he may have quoted the hp on the hi-po version as well.
Not only do I believe this guy. But his post history suggest he isnt bullshytting. Michigan native, UofM engineering degree, works in the automotive exhaust industry in Michigan and he's been saying since early December there will be ONLY two engine choices. 470hp LT1 or 660hp LT4.
He's stated this several times without alot of extra fluff on it. Will not name a source. And dared several guys to come back and call him on it when the final numbers are released. He also goes on to add there will not be a LS7 type engine for the Stingray series. It will be only be a 6.2L V8.. N/A or Supercharged all the way thru 2019.
This information matches up EXACTLY with what Keeks told us. Two engines.. base car & hi-performance model.. LT1 & LT4. Keek's CAD drawings even showed the two different engines in the bay. We've seen the real thing and it looks exactly like Keeks drawing with the LT1 installed. Why would doubt the LT4.
I think we have our information gentlemen. You guys can continue to ponder.. but if I was a betting man.. I'd say a 470hp LT1 & 660hp LT4.. and a 2015 ZR1 model are exactly what will get announced sometime this year. Goodbye Z06 & 427!

Which could leave room for the base cheap model at the bottom...
I'm still hoping NPP will get us to 476-480hp.

Really? Courtesy of Keeks, we've already seen the 3Ds of the supercharged z06 engine (660? hp) - and the twin turbo zR1 (750? hp)........
