Has anyone installed this. I cannot get the left tab to go under the rear carpet floor. The instructions are poor. Any have any suggestions! Thanks JJJ
whats' the "rear fascia protector"? I might want one?
thanks
just looked it up nevermind, I like it! that's really cool.
I had the following happen in the past 2 days which is weird and I am wondering if related...
1. While driving the drivers door pops open! The interior lights come on and the door-open bell is sounding... All while going 60 on the freeway !?!?
2. The car is sitting in the garage the alarm goes off!?
In the first case, I pulled over and opened and closed the door and got back the road. While driving I tried to intentionally open the door and I couldn't???? So what the heck?
A6,
I've gotten the easy exit to work with steering column receeding and the tilted seat to go down in the front so that the bottom of the seat is all the way down and level (if that makes any sense). I can't however, get the seat to move (using the easy exit)backwards, even an inch. Nowhere close to the bulkhead.
Has anyone been able to get their seat to move back??
The only fix I can see is to manually disable the sensors so if anyone can aquire some documentation as to the exact locations.....
My A6 works perfectly ... Yours can too!
Driver's positions and exit positions are memorized as per manual.
When I exit the seat moves down and back to facilitate exit. When I get in it stays there .... down and back. When I start the car the seat and steering wheel return to the driving position! Cool and convenient!

As for the random alarm ....I'm stumped
The alarm might have been caused by the interior motion detector if something moved inside while the alarm was on. I.e. A window was down and you reached inside???

My alarm went off car sitting in the garage but it was thundering out and the car was locked so I would assume motion or vibration caused this to happen.
I have a 2014 M7 car. Mine works as follows:
When I turn off the car and open the door the seat moves back and the wheel moves up. When I return and open the door the seat moves back to the driving position before I get in. I do not need to hold any buttons on exit or entrance. Hope that this helps.
Don't know if you saw my post but I was able to duplicate what your car is doing in my M7 after trying a number of combinations of program positions; it did that with the Auto Recall set to ON.
I currently have Auto Recall OFF and Easy Exit On and the seat stays in the programed exit position when I get in. Only issue is I have to hold the recall button until all returns to programed position.
The dealer reflashed the update software Thursday. The infotainment screen has the well documented problem and they were able to duplicate it. I showed them a video of the screen going crazy. They said the new software should help the entertainment screen problem but they say the factory is supposed to release a fix this month.
The dealer also mentioned that there is a recall for low differential oil. They had to add 1.5 quarts of oil. The car has 3100 miles on it so I hope no damage. They said there is a recall on the differential but I never got a notice in the mail. Strange.
I still do not understand the logic on the seat moving from the exit position to the driving position when you open the door. That makes no sense.

I currently have my M7 set-up the same way. To me its simply a programing issue in the Auto Recall mode. In stead of returning to the driving position when "door open" it should be programed for " door closed". Pretty simple stuff. Hopefully the guys at GM are seeing these posts.

I would get the car back to the dealer ASAP. This is a driver safety issue!!

I'd just be happy with a one touch recall with the engine off!!!!!!!!!

Same with mine, VIN 408, 2400 miles, 3 pints low. Very strange that the service advisor refers to this as a "recall" but no record on the Onstar site and no mail or email notification.

Wish it worked like my Lexus - It goes to "easy exit" when you turn the engine off and returns to the driving position when you snap the seat belt. Love it.

I understood it was not a recall and dealers were to check upon delivery. However mine was an earlier VIN 1688 before the reported one they found with no fluid! When I asked about a software update for the dash dimmer, I was then told I should have the fluid checked. Was with the C7 Certified mechanic as he checked and it was full. As I recall the vendor was supposed to deliver the system filled.
Of interest, in the new Corvette Stingray book by Edsall, it says this system was developed by GM for a 300hp version of the FWD Chevy Cobalt that never made it to market! Wondered why others didn’t have it! Edsall quotes Alex McDonald, a C7 engineer, as saying “any race team in the world would kill for eLSD” but it is not allowed by rule!

This worked. Thanks.
If you push the clutch pedal down, the one touch works.
I am sorry you M7 guys are having problems but I set mine to easy exit on door open and Memory 1 on engine start, mine is an a6 and it goes al the way back and down.

Just to set the record straight for the folks just getting their std shift C7's, most of our cars do what you mention, IF we set it this way: Auto Recall OFF and Easy Exit On. Then when opening the door to leave, the seat, mirrors, and steering wheel controls go to the programed exit position, as set per the manual. Only issue is when returning, IF the car is NOT started, when you push the recall button, you must hold it in until all controls return to the programed position. For many of us, starting the car first is a “catch 22” since we need to have the seat moved forward before the clutch can be pushed all the way in to start the car. My workaround is to push the recall button with one finger while I pull the seat belt to buckle it with the other hand. A bit awkward, but it saves time.
Note, with a std shift, if you set the Auto Recall ON, then all the controls return to the preset position (I assume as set for the key fob in your pocket) immediately when the door opens!

Seems they are but have no plans to fix this simple issue. Should be a simple fix, and makes sense.

Very true. I cant seem to find the magic combination to get one touch to work ON my C7 Manual car

Not sure the “return when the door closed” solution would work. Would it return when the door was closed after you got out? Would it return if I opened and closed the door for my other workaround, to get the rear hatch to closed? Best way is just make it do what my C6 did, have a one touch return of all controls to the programed position without having to start the car.
