Default Memory Seats ??

Why doesn't someone start a separate thread for seat problems? Somewhere in the many replies there must be a solution. I'm tired of reading the many variations of the same issue.

Amen to that. The issue has been beaten to death. Especially for those of us who don't turn on the easy exit feature.

Default Radio Issue

The stations bar is mid screen on the display blocking the song information, play, rewind and fast forward touch controls. Changing the number of favorites from five to ten and so on does not solve the problem. I suspect this is a software issue, but wanted to see if anyone has experienced this problem and if there is a corrective action for it. I have eliminated operator error, but would like a second opinion. VIN is 5851.

Previously there were numerous threads on the M7 seat memory recall programming. Those threads contained a lot of what's been said in this thread. But this is the thread for "reported issues and resolutions" and the thread that seams to be somewhat monitored by CS. The memory recall on the M7 cars is an issue, and quite frankly a pain in the azz. It needs to be resolved, so this is where the posts are happening.

You A6 guys may not want to hear about it any more, but as you can tell from the posts, we M7 folks are fed up with it. It needs to be fixed.

The variations seem to me to be due to people with automatic transmissions not reading that it doesn't apply to them and then chiming in that it works fine. This happened in the other threads too. Seems reading is no longer fundamental.

Just thinking the same thing! This is a crazy thread anyway with a mixture of issues and solutions all jumbled together! That is why I posted the 3 workarounds I use for the common issues I have for the new folks just getting their Vette’s!

Infotainment question; VIN E5101979. No current posts on the infotainment retrofit. Will there still be an infotainment system retrofit? Or is the infotainment flash the only fix? Thank you.

I think post #2 was supposed to be for the actual problem/resolutions lists. That would be the smart thing to do.

It's just a matter of someone handling that.

In the meantime, I'm wondering if anyone has run into any issues with the seat memory changing.

I've noticed the seat does not return to exactly the same place. Instead, over time, the seat returns to "nearly" the same spot but what may seem like a hair further back. After a while, I have to reposition the seat closer and resave the position, after which time the seat will start to move further back again over a period of maybe a week. I'm 99.9% sure I'm not shrinking. I'm 100% sure I'm not sitting closer and closer to the wheel.

I've also noticed that sometimes the memory doesn't want to save. I'll hit the set + 1 buttons together over and over. Sometimes it beeps and most of the time it does not.

GM memory seats are no where near perfect. I have had at least 6 GM vehicles with this feature. None worked 100% nor 100% of the time. One Caddy I would go to get in to find the seat back reclined all the way back. Not once but 100 of times. In shop 37 days total and still couldn't fix it. Since I lived in Lansing not far from the tech center so had engineers try their luck too. They finally gave me a certificate for $5,000 on my next Caddy. Plus I had Employee discount.

Sad but the memory seat in my 2006 GMC truck are far better and easier to use.

Easy exit works fine every time. However recall to position one is hit or miss. Some times only press 1 and release and it works, other times it does not, doing the exact same steps. No reason I should have to hold 1 untill everything gets to position, do not have to in my 06 GMC or any other vehicle I have owned since.

My seat memory SET button does the same thing. I'm not sure if it's the button or something else. Holding button 1, 2 or EXIT works as expected, but resetting the positions with the SET button is iffy at best. I've notified my dealer and CS of this problem. Next time I'm in for an oil change I'll have them look at it.

I have exactly the same issue. Have to stay at 5 favorites not to cover up song info. Dealer said bring it in and his tech would fix it. NOT. He gave up. Let me know if you find an answer.

I understand there is a software update coming at the end of February. I'll have my first oil change sometime in mid March. Dealer should have s/w patch by then, so i'll follow up after service. Fingers crossed...
BTW the car is OUTSTANDING...

Same experience here. It appears that after a set, a full drive cycle must occur. That full drive cycle is entrance, start, drive, and exit. Then the set memory profile works automatically. But not always! Please post if you find out anything.

My Easy Exit feature just plain doesn't work. Errr. i've had this car 2.5 months and it's yet to spend more than 3 consecutive weeks without having to be at the dealer for something.

UPDATE: Easy Exit does work. After re-reading threads and the manual, I was thinking easy exit meant the seats, etc. would move BACK so I could get in and out of the car easily but based on what I read, that's not the case.

UPDATE: Easy exit does work. I re-read the threads and the manual and I got confused. I thought Easy Exit meant, it would slide everything back to easily exit the car. Not the case. This thread has so many random issues intertwined, I got lost in all this. My bad.

As for the details:
12/9 - Purchased car

12/18 - Car goes in for Low Rear Diff Recall. No issues found for me.

1/7 - Car needs HVAC Flash update
- Needed my heated seats checked (they still suck post HVAC update -- dealer said the HVAC update might make my seats warmer. I don't think they did
- Needed my the seat cover replaced on my drivers seat. I got a piece of clothing caught on the Corvette emblem near the headrest and it broke. Apparently you can't just buy this emblem (I bet it costs like a nickel to make). Instead, they needed to replace my entire seat cover. This is ludicrous if you ask me
- I found two chips under my mirror. More details in this post (http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c7-g...r-mirrors.html)
Dealer fixed these issues and repainted my mirrors. Car was gone 8 days.

1/15 - Went to pick up my car, looked at the mirrors, and saw the White paint they used didn't match the body color of the car. Dealer said GM has used the same paint code for Arctic White for 22 years. Dealer h Had to reschedule to drop off again

1/21 - Dropped off car with expectation to pick up on 1/24 with correctly painted mirrors

1/24 - Dealer says the paint code from GM doesn't match the paint they mixed to match the car. The need to keep my car another week while a rep from Dupont comes out, uses a special camera to analyze, match, and then order a custom batch of Arctic White to match my car. Finally got my car back just after the Super Bowl.

Glad I don't need to do anything for the Easy Exit, but now that I get it, I see why people are upset at the feature. It's *** backward.

.
Good info thanks. Looks like a lot of it was created by the paint issue to match it.
