Default DIC not initializing

[QUOTE.=RxCritical;1585275457]Please do report it. This is essentially the same issue myself and another couple of guys are having. GM is working on a software update supposedly due out by the end of the year and any more data points can certainly help them improve the update. There is nothing your dealer can do other than report the issue to GM so you should not be out your car for troubleshooting. [/QUOTE]

Hi All:
I found the above single post on this topic by searching for DIC problems, but could not find the rest of the thread, so I decided a reply would find the thread for me. My apologies if all this has been answered in the thread.

I had the exact same experience last week (Jan 24) on my two day old Convertible VIN 10483. Approx 100 miles on clock and had the problem persist for two days, then without any obvious reason at 180 miles, after multiple starts, stops and complete shutdowns, all is back to normal.

It appears that the DIC module software is not initializing at startup. Glad to hear that GM is working on it.
Thanks

I was also told since the car uses a Composite L Spring this is another reason it has this issues? True or False?

Don’t see the composite spring has anything to do with it. I did not like the referenced article because it only talked about the Ackerman steering and said it was a “wart” on the C7! I believe I covered more issues that are causing this “chatter” in a document I wrote when investigating why my C7 had much more chatter than my Z51, C6. I also provide pictures so you can show whoever is riding with you what the possible causes are! See netwelding.com/reports_vette_info.htm
In fact to validate a key cause, the tires; some Forum members have said the problem went away when they put on all-season tires! The tires, especially those on the Z51 (which I have) are a key factor.

Suspension geometry coupled with wide tires. Nothing more....

Just push down firmly and slowly over the latch and it locks. Its not meant to be dropped and locked, or slammed.

Maybe it won't happen again but I will keep an eye on it. If this is the only hiccup I have with the car, I will be happy. (Knocking on wood as I type)
I have the same issue on my passenger window. Window goes up, touches the top and goes back down. The only way to get it to close is to hold the switch as the window goes up and then release. My car is at the dealer's for a different issue but they said they would check the window closing issue while there. They though it might be a senser.

Battery indentation cover is for tow bolt. It is only supplied with foreign models, not domestic.

Been addresses on other Threads. It is a toeing hook for overseas models. The North American cars not only don’t get one, there is no place to screw it in, as their apparently is on the European models!

Looked around and not sure if this has been covered before. Did they change the keyless entry operation in the C7? I need to take the FOB out and hit the switch to unlock the doors. In my C6, just getting within a certain distance unlocked the doors for me.

No, I just walk up and open doors. No need to push the Fob button.

But does the door LOCK on it's own when you walk away? I can't configure the lock/unlock function like I could on my C6, lights flash
when you get with 5 or 6 feet, then car locks/unlocks on it's own. The key right now is no where near my car, the door should be LOCKED,
it's UNLOCKED.

If it is the same as the C6 goto settings in your car setup and set what preference you want and how you want to system to lock your car when leaving I set mine to chirp once when leaving and headlight flash once.
Door should automatically lock when you walk away from the car.

Yes the door locks when I get about 20 feet away and the horn beeps once to let me know the doors are locked. I keep the FOB in my pocket and I hit the door open switch and the door unlocks and opens. I have the A6 so I'm not sure if there's any difference between this and the M7.

Very dangerous experience
Theo, did you ever find out what caused you lockup?

Just got the car back yesterday from a dash dim software update, check the dif fluid (it was fine as expected) and several functions I had set, were different-for example no beep and lights when I walked away. There are a lot of options to what happens with the locking/unlocking-you have to set these. Then was concerned that the car wasn't locking only to find the hatch was ajar! Seat memory still the way it has been, have to hold the memory recall button as the seats and wheel go back to the set position. Believe I'll give up trying to fix that. Tried everything Chevy Customer Service suggested and Chevy dealer service couldn't help. If anyone with a 3LT standard shift and can hit the button recall only once, like it says in the manual it should, without having to start the car 1st, let me know!

I have a 3LT with stick shift. When I turn off the car and open the door the seat moves back for easy exit. However, when I enter and open the door the seat moves back to the correct position before I sit in the seat. It makes it harder to get into the car.
