I've also found myself just sitting in the car in the garage, playing with (and trying to learn) all the features.

Anyone else experienced this?
I have had the same problem with my C6 since the first day I brought here home over two years ago. I was hoping that GM would have corrected this issue by now, but clearly it has existed across generations. In fact, I was talking with a C5 owner the other day and he states that he has experiencing the same problem for YEARS! Clearly I am at a loss and the only resolution I can see is to trade my Corvette for something more mundane. Maybe an Accord, Camry, Malibu, Porsche?

This thread is starting to devolve into a whining mess.

"My car makes a little 'bump' sound every time I go over a bump."

Seriously, this thread was created to report actual real problems, not as a place to whine about your legroom or difficulty getting out of the car (made worse by your age) or the fact the luxury cars have better 'mufflers' on the AC compressor lines. Sorry to pick on you guys, but you're just the most recent examples. Those topics, if you want to post them, should be in separate forum topics, not in this thread dealing with mechanical problems with the car.

I own a C6.....and I halve been a corvette owner for decades. Last summer my son and I went to Carlysle to see the new C7. We loved it. However sitting in it felt a bit tight. Well, yesterday I actually got to drive one and clearly the legroom is substantially tighter than my C6. Chevy shows the legroom as essentially the same. But my 6 ft 2 inch body doesn't lie! Though my left leg was " ok", my right leg was very bent and hitting the underside of the dash. Not the case in my C6' no matter how I set the seat, I simply couldn't get comfortable. Love the car otherwise,

I'm quite a bit taller then you, and having owned several C6's, total agree with you. There is much less leg room in the new C7. The cabin space maybe the same as the earlier vette, but the new seats are that much thicker that they've take up the extra space. I've even thought about getting a racing seat and installing it on the driver's side. I wouldn't need any seat adjustment if it were installed to fit me. I'd store the factory seat in case I ever decided to trade or sell it.

An absolutely illogical position to take when you don't know the percentages. With over 18K C7's produced, how many have been reported to have problems? And of those, how many were early VINs with issues that have been corrected in later VINs?

I've been reading this thread from the very beginning. I ordered my C7 last Wednesday. I'm comfortable with the progress to where I have answers if something pops up but it's nothing that can't be fixed.

Default I agree with Elmer

Mine is scheduled to be built this week. I haven't seen anything here that scares me. Most issues have been resolved and most issues were on cars built in late 2013. I think the odds of getting a Vette without issues are very good. I will post again after I receive the vehicle and check it out.

its definitely not stopping me from doing it though. Same thing with my M3 when I ordered it.. Although I am hoping to take one of kerbeck's base cars off the lot , if/when I do get one so I would love to know what VIN is currently up to or even build date

The only car that a forum ever stopped me from buying is an SRT8 jeep lol and thats because I had a bad taste in my mouth for JEEP/CHRYSLER already

If you take all 1300+ posts on this thread and boil them down, you'll probably find about a dozen issues and all are mostly correctable by the dealer. There are a few (me included with the heated seat issue) who are wanting a better answer than what we received from GM however this is an extremely minor issue and does not detract from an absolutely outstanding automobile.

probably my 03 z06 and my 08 z06 have had many issues that I just didn't care to read about on here or things that I notice but don't bother me that much...

the most annoying thing I have ever had on a car was my 08 g37s 6mt coupe... the passenger seatbelt arm would rattle.... I wanted to rip that thing off and throw it out the window...

Agree so very much with this post.
I have had several Vettes over the years and they all have had their issues. And I most always wait until the 2nd or 3 year of a new model so that they have time to get the bugs out. But.... The new C7 is a show-stopper. A real icon. An eye blinker and jaw dropper. It is the best dang thing on the road under $400,000 period... in my opinion. 17 awards so far. It is more powerful than a C6 427 under 4,000 RPM. So I will accept these minor issues in exchange for having the 190th Convertible produced out of the factory. I paid cash for this car 6 months before manufacturing started. Why, because it is one gosh dang hell of a car. Mine came with a damaged AC return line, the convertible grommet at the latch point of the top was missing, and a door vibration pad on the drivers side missing. Should not have to put up with this lack of QC I agree. But I will accept it for this car, this year. But yes, they do have some work to do at the factory. Too many units getting out the door that are not ready to get out.

But.... I wish there was someone keeping track of all the issues and keeping an issue log without all the discussion in between so we have a QC issue list. I started one on awards. Hope I see them all but no guarantees. May have missed some.

This weekend when I stopped to check on my C7, I unlocked the doors with the FOB and the fuel door came open. Yes you can hear the actuator working but the fuel door shouldn't open unless you press in on it.

So when unlocking the door the gas cap unlocks.....
Really, what 's the problem, wire it the same as the C6.
There were no fix for it? unacceptable answer. Leav the door open while gasing... how stupid.

The fuel door shouldn't open on its own - it should simply unlock ALLOWING it to be opened.

Yeah, it randomly happens. I've had it happen once for me. My salesman said it's quite common on all the cars they have sold.

I think the latching mechanism that keeps it closed may have a "short reset" meaning distance it needs to travel when you push it in to pop it open. I noticed mine did it after I washed the car, so I think I may have pressed it in and reset the latch, but the lock was keeping it closed until the next unlock.

Default Black screen of death (BSD) now has happened 4 times since delivery 3 weeks ago

In follow-up to my earlier posting, BSD has now happened 4 times since delivery 3 weeks ago. It has happened when I am on cell phone and it has happened when listening to music. When on the connected cell phone, the Bluetooth link between phone and car is lost. However, when listening to XM radio, the sound continues to play although there is nothing on the screen. I'm still convinced this is a programming problem and not a switch issue. However, I just drive these things, I don't program them!

Default BSD supplement

Forgot to mention that I'm noticing that when the BSD is over, I'm getting a message to the effect that maps are reloading or something like that. I'm also convinced that the computer is not adequately interpreting Bluetooth data. My prior posting showed a photo of my dash with almost no battery life. The following morning when my phone was fully charged, it was still not showing a full battery on the dash.
Still love the car.....
