** C7 Reported issues and resolutions thread **
Last night I get it my car start it and everything is fine, I get about 30 feet and my gauges go black for 5-10 seconds, the gauges "reboot" but the LCD stays off. 5 seconds later the LCD turns on, I'm in ECO mode but the gauge is in Sport mode and my normal preference is set to "link with drive mode"
I turn the car off and start it up again and it starts normal except for it's still in "Sport mode" so I go into the settings and it's selected to Sport, not linked.
This AM I go and start my car, once again in ECO, my gauge is in Sport mode, 10 seconds later it switches to ECO.
This is after 7000 miles, nothing new done to the car, hasn't visited the dealer in 4k miles. Odd!
I bought my dad a vette, drove it from flint MI, to Virginia last week, He loves it! Now the bad part, with about 700 mile on the OD, I was driving it today when it developed a ticking/rattle noise in the engine bay. I pulled over and listened some more to it. No engine light, no indications anything was wrong other then the ticking that developed rapidly and was more pronounced at 2-3K RPM. Decided to had home. 1/2 mile later car dies on me. I was quickly able to pull into a drive way.
Dash is blank, doors don't work, engine will not start or turn over. All that works is the windows. info center, dash, EVERYTHING is Blank, not on. Had to have it towed. I could not even get the car out of park and into neutral, electrically the car is dead, except the windows.
I looked through this entire thread and have not seen anybody with this problem, has anybody heard of this? It is a HUGE disappointment and I am really worried.
I factory ordered the car vin 17056, dealership I had it towed to opens Monday at 7am est, hope they can diagnose quickly, until then any ideas guys?

It would not start, and a tow was offered but when a hook truck was sent, decided to attempt to start the car and drive to local dealership (Jim Ellis Chevrolet).
The plate that rests on battery was loose, but when pressed to make contact, the car would start and run long enough to get the car to the dealership.
Familiar Rear Axle Service light came on.
They have no Corvette tech on weekends.
They reported that work began on Monday but were unable to repair the car, ordered "a new fuse block"
Block arrived on Tuesday, and while the car started, this did not turn off the rear axle service code.
The differential has the "white dot" to indicate that it was likely made after the recall of last fall.
By Thursday, the Corvette tech felt that this was due to a module near the rear axle (communicated via a service counter worker) but we never knew which module. This part then was ordered.
Again, no return calls and we were told on Friday that the tech had not installed the replacement unit. Assured that we would be called before service closed on Friday. We were not called, and our calls to the service personnel went unanswered.
We were able to reach someone on Saturday. She sounded appalled at our plight, stated that she would call us back. Did not.
On Monday, at ~7:15 am service personnel called and said he was unable to reach or coordinate with Corvette tech, and we assumed that this replaced module did not solve the rear axle service light. Although we cannot be certain since data is not easily obtained.
Georgia's Lemon Law states that if a car requires service taking the car out of your possession for 30 days within 24 months, that you can make a claim. We are, as indicated, on Day 9+.
Obviously, we can move the car from Jim Ellis by trailer to (for example) Rick Hendrick or other Atlanta dealership although this is also going to consume additional time and will offer no guarantee of repair.
If anyone has valid/reliable ideas regarding the service code (beyond the reality that it can come on with the pos. battery cable disconnected for x-minutes), would appreciate specific information...part numbers etc. We do not feel after 9 days that the tech is able to find a solution.
The car had ~35+ miles when taken to Jim Ellis Chevrolet.
Thank you

Got the car to a bay with a lift and jacked up and cleaned up as much oil as we could, but couldn't find the leak. When I revved the engine up and got the oil pressure above 40psi, it started leaking again, but couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from.
This morning I found this small puddle under the car.
The car is at dealer now and they are trying to find the leak. They think is is coming from the "air breather?" Anyone heard of this before? They are going to contact GM for information. Will keep you informed about what they find out.

They also mentioned that it will happen if you run high RPMs before the proper break-in period. I told them the car has almost 2800 miles (well past the 1500 mile limit) and I made sure to follow the break-in instructions.I did check the oil before heading out (run up to 175deg oil temp, shut down and check after 5-10 mins) and the level was at the top of the crosshatch mark. Seems to me that it wasn't overfilled and I haven't added any oil. By the time I got back home, the level was half way down the cross hatch. They're waiting for an air filter and have cleaned up the spilled oil. I should have it back tonight. I'm going to check it out at high RPMs and high oil pressure to see if it happens again.

We are awaiting notification that the problem(s) are resolved.
When resolution occurs, we shall post an update.
Thank you to all for reading and for the several that intervened on our behalf.
(Our intent was to trade this car with minimal miles toward an early Z06 but shall put a hold on our deposit pending this outcome.)
Hope to post again soon that we have our car back.
