It would not start, and a tow was offered but when a hook truck was sent, decided to attempt to start the car and drive to local dealership (Jim Ellis Chevrolet).

The plate that rests on battery was loose, but when pressed to make contact, the car would start and run long enough to get the car to the dealership.

Familiar Rear Axle Service light came on.

They have no Corvette tech on weekends.

They reported that work began on Monday but were unable to repair the car, ordered "a new fuse block"

Block arrived on Tuesday, and while the car started, this did not turn off the rear axle service code.

The differential has the "white dot" to indicate that it was likely made after the recall of last fall.

By Thursday, the Corvette tech felt that this was due to a module near the rear axle (communicated via a service counter worker) but we never knew which module. This part then was ordered.

Again, no return calls and we were told on Friday that the tech had not installed the replacement unit. Assured that we would be called before service closed on Friday. We were not called, and our calls to the service personnel went unanswered.

We were able to reach someone on Saturday. She sounded appalled at our plight, stated that she would call us back. Did not.

On Monday, at ~7:15 am service personnel called and said he was unable to reach or coordinate with Corvette tech, and we assumed that this replaced module did not solve the rear axle service light. Although we cannot be certain since data is not easily obtained.

Georgia's Lemon Law states that if a car requires service taking the car out of your possession for 30 days within 24 months, that you can make a claim. We are, as indicated, on Day 9+.

Obviously, we can move the car from Jim Ellis by trailer to (for example) Rick Hendrick or other Atlanta dealership although this is also going to consume additional time and will offer no guarantee of repair.

If anyone has valid/reliable ideas regarding the service code (beyond the reality that it can come on with the pos. battery cable disconnected for x-minutes), would appreciate specific information...part numbers etc. We do not feel after 9 days that the tech is able to find a solution.

The car had ~35+ miles when taken to Jim Ellis Chevrolet.

Thank you
We apologize for the delay in parts, a matter beyond our control. The poor communication, however, I can do something about. I know it is frustrating to have such an exciting and expensive investment "up in the air," especially as the car only had 35 miles on it when it was delivered to you from Michigan. None of the C7's we've delivered at Jim Ellis Chevrolet have exhibited this problem but we are working diligently on fixing it. But hey, we're the ones that helped the nationwide recall on the rear ends because, unfortunately, one of the first of over 100 we've delivered, the rear end failed. I would stake our reputation on David Fulcher's abilities and other than being off on Saturdays, he knows his stuff. Sincerely, Mark Frost - General Manager

Default Outcome Pending

It is relieving to know that Jim Ellis Chevrolet recognizes the inconsistent, and at times confusing, communication pattern regarding our problem. This deficit was the causative issue.

Parts availability, Saturday work hours and technician comparative skill level were secondary concerns.

Again, we are grateful for the involvement of others in what we hope will lead to a successful resolution of a painful process. We hope to post soon that this is resolved.

I followed the instructions provided on the Homelink website with no success because the sun visor button would never flash rapidly. I also called their support number but could not actually speak to anyone because the only support available for vehicles built after 2003 is a computerized step-by-step walk through which has no way to actually solve a programming problem. I thought this was extremely poor on their part. I attempted programming with & without putting the remote into Intellicode 1 mode with no success either way.

After a few days of frustration I decided to give Genie a call with little hope of success because Homelink is not actually a Genie service. I was able to speak to an actual person , a very friendly and helpful young lady who said she would help me even though Homelink is not actually their service or product. After going through the same steps I did for the previous days without any success again; she asked me to pull the clip off the back of the Genie remote I was using in an attempt to program the sun visor button with and give her the numbers stamped onto it under the spot where the clip goes. After giving these to her she said; "Aw, there's the problem". The last numbers on my Genie are "2.0.3". She then told me she was going to send me a different remote to use in programming the Homelink in my C7 because the original Genie remote roles the Intellicode codes so fast that the sun visor button could not catch it.

So after a few days I got the promised remote (At no charge) and was able to program the sun visor Homelink on the first attempt!

The model number of the remote she sent me is "GITR-3".
DirectionalMan I have been having a problem trying to get my visor remote working with my Genie also not sure I'm having the same problem but it sure sounds like it my garage door is only about 2 years old could I still be having the same problem as you did with a newer Genie door? Any hep would be a big help... Thanks

So I'm taking my c7 in tomorrow as the brakes squeal at low speeds when barely applying the brakes (15mph-0) I thought maybe brake dust or new brakes but this sounds like a bus. And worst it doesn't do it every single time so gonna have to recreate it for the dealer. Does it 8/10 times tho so shouldn't b a problem. Read around that it's common with ceramic brakes but def not acceptable on a 70k car. Will keep updated on solutions. Wish me luck!
Have a 2012 GS and had brake squeal at low speed or when stoping
Dealer tried to fix by replacing pads and on 2nd time re did rotors still does it, just gave up.only will do it when they get warmed up.Took a cell phone video to show dealer that helped. They said GM says brake noise is normal. I have had 6 vettes with no brake noise BS.

Just had the base wheels powder coated gloss black on my torch red black racing stripes C7. When they went to re-balance the wheels they find that all 4 Michelin tires are out of round. Only 800 miles, is this possible?

I'm assuming that this would be considered "wear and tear" and not covered under warranty? I find it hard to believe that all 4 are out. I would get a second opinion. Hate to hear that. These tires are not cheap. I've read on this forum of guys picking up nails on their way home from dealer who did not purchase the dealers "tire protection plan"

Default Important - Update

We have received a call that our car is ready for pickup.

We shall do so as soon as possible.

Again, our sincerest thanks to all those who called and wrote on our behalf.

We look forward to seeing and driving our car and to return to the concept of trading for an early Z06.

Our deepest appreciation.

i am cross posting here, the main thread is in general, but here is the update for today on my issue

Update, a main 350 amp fuse is blown, unsure as of yet what caused it. case opened with GM corp, local tech is now speaking directly to the technical team at corporate to start to understand why a 350amp fuse would pop on the car.

I am happy we are making progress! I think it will be awhile before we get her back, but I would rather this is done right, and not done in a hurry and in haste. weather sucks around here anyway...

Where is a 350 amp fuse located? Is it a fusable link? Is this a C7?
Found part of my answer by searching. See yours is a C7, still wonder where the 350 amp fuse is located! That is a very big fuse! Except for some very high powered sound systems don’t find those in cars! Maybe in a welding machine or other industrial system but doubt AutoZone carries one!

Thanks. Perhaps they are using some type of shunt and the micro is monitoring. It may have been defective. Will be of interest to see what the dealer says when they get it fixed.

Looks like it is my turn for some entertainment screen, radio, and climate control problems. Started a couple days ago with the screen flickering constantly but has now progressed to the radio constantly switching between radio stations. Same if I hook up my iPhone--it keeps forwarding to new songs every few seconds. In addition, my a/c temperature gauge is blank and the driver seat heat turns itself on and won't turn off and the passenger seat turns the ventilation on and won't turn off. I know the radio issues are fairly common, but has anyone else heard of the seat heat issue?

Noticed leaks on my driveway after moving my C7. Looked in the garage and noticed numerous leaks where I park the car. Leaks were in both rear axle seals and right side cooler line fitting. Only had 540 miles on it so they started likely after a few hundred miles at the most. Everything fixed today and no leaks. Vin 12317 with TPW 1/6

Done deal and simple, with a Genie garage door opener push the learn button on the opener transmitter you have 30 seconds to hit the visor remote 4 times and it's programed. I parked the car in the garage while I did this you might have to press one of the visor buttons more than 4 times but it worked for me with just 4. FYI that is if anyone is having a problem programming your visor remote on your C7 and you have a Genie opener might work with other brands but not sure.

I'm having some new issues since they did the software update on my car.

My cluster keeps resetting now and then. When it happens, the screen goes black, the gauges reset (do a full sweep) and I lose a bunch of my settings.

Anyone else having this issue? It's happened to me 2 or 3 times now.

Power Memory Seat Operation
March 24, 2014
The power driver’s seat with memory recall and Easy Exit recall operations (Fig. 8) on some 2014 Corvettes (with the Memory Package, RPO AAB) may seem to operate erratically or intermittently. To help with diagnosis, it’s necessary to become familiar with the operational characteristics of this all-new system.

Fig 8

Some common comments include:

• The seat won’t recall when entering the vehicle
• The seat only moves when holding one of the memory buttons (button 1, 2 or the Exit button)
• The seat stops moving when releasing a memory button
• Sometimes the seat moves completely to the stored position by pressing and releasing a memory button

Seat Travel Limit Switches

The new Bulkhead Limit Switch, located on the left and right body harness conduit (Fig. 9), is used in both seating positions and acts to prevent damage to the body harness and seatback covers when the seat or seatback is moved in a rearward direction. When this switch is active (any time pressure is detected against the rear bulkhead/carpet area directly behind the seats), power seat movement is limited to movements that will bring the seat/seatback forward.

Fig 9

The new Seatback Unlock Switch, located inside the seatback assembly at the recliner mechanism, is used in both seat positions to prevent the seat from moving further rearward to ensure that the seatback can return to the normal upright position. When this switch is active (any time the seatback is manually folded forward), power seat movement is limited to movements that will bring the seat/seatback forward.

Both of these switches are viewable with the GDS2 scan tool. Common reasons for the Bulkhead Limit Switch being active are if the Easy Exit setting is stored in a position that applies pressure to the rear bulkhead or if an object is behind the seatback.

Supervised and Unsupervised Movements

Unlike prior models, the new system features unsupervised and supervised modes.

Unsupervised movement occurs when the operator has pressed and released, within 1/2 second, a memory button, which allows the seat to move on its own to a previously stored position.

TIP: Pressing any power seat button or memory button during unsupervised movement stops the seat. To resume recall operation, press and release, within 1/2 second, the desired memory button again.

Depending on transmission type, unsupervised movement will occur if:

• Automatic transmission – The vehicle ignition is on, the transmission is in Park, and the Bulkhead Limit Switch Seatback and Unlock Switch are both inactive.
• Manual transmission – The vehicle igntion is on, the clutch is depressed, the Parking Brake is applied, and the Bulkhead Limit Switch and Seatback Unlock Switch are both inactive.

Supervised movement occurs when a memory button is actively pressed and held, which allows the seat to move only while the operator is supervising the seat movement. Releasing the memory button will stop the seat movement. Only supervised memory recall operation can occur when the vehicle ignition is not in the On/Run Position. If the Bulkhead Limit Switch or Seatback Unlock Switch is active, either no operation will occur or supervised operation will occur, depending on which switch is active and the requested direction of seat travel.

Auto Memory Recall

The new memory seat system allows the operator to enable or disable the Auto Memory Recall operation of the seat. Auto Memory Recall is when the seat moves to a previously stored position either when opening the driver’s door or when the vehicle igntion is turned on. In order for auto recall to function, the feature must be turned on in the Settings menu of the infotainment system.

The operation of Auto Memory Recall is based on transmission type:

• Automatic transmission; At Driver’s Door Open – When the vehicle ignition is off and the Unlock key fob button is pressed, auto recall will occur if the driver’s door is opened with four minutes. The seat position will be recalled to the set position if the Bulkhead Limit Switch or Seatback Unlock Switch is inactive. If the driver’s door is already open, pressing the Unlock key fob button will cause the seat to recall to the desired position if the Bulkhead Limit Switch or Seatback Unlock Switch is inactive.

• Automatic transmission; At Ignition On – When the vehicle ignition button is pressed, the seat position will be recalled to the set position without a memory button being pressed if the Bulkhead Limit Switch or Seatback Unlock Switch is inactive.

• Manual transmission – The only available selection is on or off. If turned on, when the vehicle ignition is off and the driver’s door is opened, the seat position will be recalled to the set position if the Bulkhead Limit Switch or Seatback Unlock Switch is inactive.

Easy Exit

The new memory system also allows the operator to enable or disable the Easy Exit Automatic Recall operation of the driver’s seat. This feature recalls the current driver’s previously stored Exit button position when exiting the vehicle. In order for the Easy Exit feature to function, it must be turned on in the Settings menu of the infotainment system.

Easy Exit recall automatically activates when one of the following occurs:

• The vehicle is turned off and the driver’s door is opened within a short time.
• The vehicle is turned off with the driver’s door open.
• The Exit button is pressed.

TIP: Similar to Auto Memory Recall, the operation of the Easy Exit recall will differ based on Transmission type. Refer to the Supervised/Unsupervised Movements section.

Supposedly, this only happens when the oil is overfilled and shouldn't be a problem again. We shall see. They also mentioned that it will happen if you run high RPMs before the proper break-in period. I told them the car has almost 2800 miles (well past the 1500 mile limit) and I made sure to follow the break-in instructions.

I did check the oil before heading out (run up to 175deg oil temp, shut down and check after 5-10 mins) and the level was at the top of the crosshatch mark. Seems to me that it wasn't overfilled and I haven't added any oil. By the time I got back home, the level was half way down the cross hatch. They're waiting for an air filter and have cleaned up the spilled oil. I should have it back tonight. I'm going to check it out at high RPMs and high oil pressure to see if it happens again.
Picked up the car and no more leaks so far, although, I'll need to take it out and run it hard to see if it starts leaking again. Seems there have been so many calls about this issue that a bulletin was issued, #3750988. Calls for the dealer to remove the air filter assembly and clean it all out, replace the air filter and change the oil/oil filter. They also cleaned up the engine and the engine bay. Haven't had a chance to get under the car to see how well they did.

Anyone know where I can go to read the bulletin online? Should have gotten it at the dealer but it was so late when I picked up the car I forgot.

Thanks for the info! Wondered what was on the terminal board on the left side of the battery! Will have to look next time I am in the battery area. First car I have had with a 350 amp fuse! Maybe since it is a rear mounted battery and the wire for the starter passes in areas where in an accident it could short. Had the concern of that long wire directly from the battery to the starter when I wired my street rod, which has the battery in the right rear. I decided to use Ford starter solenoid mounted close to battery so there is power to the starter only when it is energized.
