Order #RSSH6N/SRE VIN#1G1 YB2D 72 E5125973 I have an authorization number for a supplier discount. My dealer will not accept it. What can I do? They did not get me the z51 they said I was getting, and I am paying $6400 for the z51 rims and they are charging me $80 to mount them. I sure could use a break after all I have been through. I could write a book as this is only a small part of what I have been through. Thank You.

I hope you are smart enough to just walk away from this deal. Paying $6400 for z51 rims plus the extra insult of $80 to mount is nothing short of idiotic.

Document ID 3334380 from GM explains: "The vented seat operation is designed to draw cabin air around and away from the occupant through small holes in the seat covers, through channels in the foam pad, and then through the blower motor exhausting the waste air under the seat cushion."

At first I didn't buy it because this definitely feels like a cooling function so mechanic and I went for a test drive with top up and A/C set to LO. Outside temp was 87. We started the drive with the heat on the seats and after about 3-4 minutes could feel the seat heating up. Stayed this way for a few more minutes then turned on the venting function for the seats. After about 3-4 minutes could feel a cooling effect under the butt and lower back. Decided to test the effect of the cabin air so turned off the A/C and let the cabin warm. Did not seem to effect the feel of the seat. Still felt like it was cooling. Went all out and turned on the max heat in the cabin and still the seat felt like it was cooling so now I don't know what to believe.

Mine has been working for about the last week so I don't have any helpful information on sporadic operation. All systems worked while at the dealer so that's about all I can do for now.
If you want to see the inside of the seat and how it just blows air (and why the heating function is not as good as the C6) watch this video:

Default Oh my

Picked up my cyber gray z51 last evening. While going over the car this Morning I discovered a crack underneath the hatch in the lower left corner. What a bummer. Anyone else have this or similar issue. The dealer will repair- that's not the issue. Just a hassle!

I also have a hairline crack, about 1.25'' long at the very top of the driver's door. Same story, dealer will repair but since my dealer does not have his own body shop, I had to take the car to my local body shop, have the owner inspect the defect, then call the dealer to set it all up. b.i.g. hassle....

Hi Jennie !

all is good ! from walking into the dealer to picking the car up was exactly a 24 hour turn around time and they did not have the part in stock they had to order it. Corvette mechanic was a really nice guy so was service advisors and manager. In fact even the sales people were really cool while I was waiting for my ride (they also offered to give me a ride home but friend was already on the way).

Big thumbs up and thank you to chevrolet of freehold (part of pine belt cars I believe)

also I have heard that the headlight issue is somewhat common

Premium 0311 - I see my licence plate as well but also have a great rear view - I don't see this as a problem.

FYI: Picked up my car last Friday evening. Saturday I washed the car giving me a chance to view all aspects of the vehicle. To my surprise i found a crack located in the lower left (driver side) of the inner hatch. A real disappointment. I called the dealer who advised me to bring the car in when i have an opportunity. I guess thats all one can expect. DrDavid121

C7,Z51, M7, coupe. Took our first day trip Sunday and noticed higher temps in the footwell on the drivers side than we had in our C6. Are there any thermal blankets for the tunnel on the aftermarket like there was for the C6?

Look at my posting #1624. I had same problem. Hopefully the GM people will respond with a solution.

So on my way home. I think I may have blown an intake gasket or even worse blew the engine. Driving with traffic 70 / 75, high speed lane, giving I gas, no response. I was in manual mode so I shifted to 4th, still no accel, moved over to the middle lane and felt some serious bucking (almost felt like I was riding over rumble strips). Still tried to give it gas no luck. Saw some white smoke pouring out of the drivers side front tire, first thought was crap flat tire, then crap maybe it's shredded (although as I was thinking, well that doesn't seem right for run flats but maybe i'm way off). The smoke continued to pour out as I moved over to the breakdown lane. Looked in the rearview and couldn't see anything across all 6 lanes of the highway (3 lanes north, 3 lanes south), complete white out. In this mayhem, a vehicle behind me crashed into the guardrail :/ (luckily he's ok sustained minor injuries and was sent off to the hospital, I didn't speak to the gentleman as I was preoccupied with on-star and figured I was the last person in the world he'd want to see). Rear of my car, covered in oil. Oil was leaking from the front end under the drivers side. The initial diagnostics said intake manifold failed (On-Star diagnostic). Anyways, tow truck guy showed up a little before 9 (left show around 7:30). He tried to turn it on, it wouldn't turn over, made an absolute racket (slightly concerned that I now have a wicked serious issue). Car is now sitting in the parking lot of the dealership.

How many miles on the car? Keep us informed of the status and diagnosis.

A friend of mine has a C7 that started acting up with 128miles on it. Turned out to be a broken valve spring and bent valve. GM wanted to replace the engine, but he insisted on just fixing it -- new valve and spring. Probably not a good choice since the piston must have been nicked, but he's happy now and running fine.

Your issue sounds much more serious.

2,600. I think it rolled over to 2600 as the car stopped working / rolled into the breakdown lane. @ 1303 I had the radiator replaced as that was leaking.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Glad you are okay (along with the person who crashed into the guardrail).

Wonder if the radiator issue was not repaired properly?

What was your VIN/Build Date?

Thanks

Hi, at just over 600 miles I'nm having a similar problem. Sometimes the screen doesn't come on for 45-60 sec. I'll be watching to see if you come up with a resolution

Default A few issues

Okay, now that I actually own a C7, I guess I have earned the right to post a few things in this thread. First of all, let me say that all in all, my new C7 convertible is an AMAZING automobile. It is so far ahead of my old C6, I just can't believe both cars came from the same plant. Having said that, a few things have popped up in the last month or so since I took delivery, so here goes...

1. There is about a 1.5" hairline stress fracture in the driver's door at the very top of the door near the handle. Problem is, the crack is starting to spread (spiderweb). I have already been in touch with my local Chevy dealer and my local body shop and I am told Chevrolet will cover the cost of repair. I am just waiting to get the car into the shop. I am not sure what they will do to fix the crack. I guess they will sand it down, apply some sort of resin to secure the crack and keep it from spreading, then repaint. I hope they do not have to repaint the entire door...

2. I am hearing a distinct "snapping" sound directly behind me whenever I raise or lower the convertible top. I will have the dealer check that out as well.

3. I can hear something rubbing in one of the front wheels when I drive slowly with the windows open. Almost sounds like something against one of the front rotors.

4. When I run the car in the garage (with the door open of course). I am hearing a distinct "clicking" sound emanating from the engine bay. I don't think it is a valve, maybe the fuel pump? I don't know. I will have that checked out as well...

Other then those few small things I LOVE THIS CAR. Once I get those issues fixed, I am looking forward to years of fun...
