Default Auto Trans Overheating at track

So I took my c7 to a track day today. Car is a 6 spd Auto Z-51 car with mag ride. After the first run, 25 min long, I noticed the trans temp was high. Around 300 degrees. The car sat for 50-55 min before I ran again. After about 10 min on track transmission temp was over 300 and waring's went off in car. I ran a slow lap to cool it down and stopped for the day. There were other auto vetts running with me 2012 and 2103's. None of them had any issues. Both were stock grand sports. This doesn't seem right to me. Temp was about 82 today. What do y'all think could be causing this? I could hear the tans cooler running when I stopped the car and could feel air being sucked in through the vent on the drivers side. So it seems trans cooler fan was working. I'm baffled, but Im no mechanical expert, lol. Thanks for your help.

Maybe we need a thread where we just post updates, recalls, etc only. Should come with the info so we can just say to dealer I need this update done as I'm having the same problem. Example the dim instrument display.

After 680 miles, I am hearing a subtle "squeak" in the rear of the car....sounds more like a "chirp"; the sound is random and occurs often. Sound is loud enough to be heard over the radio. I live in central Pa. and don't plan to take the Vette to my local dealer with this problem until the Spring. Sounds like our "squeak" is similar; I would be interested to learn if you follow through with your dealer and have the situation corrected.
Don't remember if anyone addressed this as the possible cause of the "squeak" but my Vin is #1313 and the squeak only occurs in my car right after depressing the brakes..then and only then.as if the engagement of the pads creates a mechanical action noise..no grinding or any thing like that just a subtle squeak and then it's gone.

Default Isn't checking the Oil is basic mechanic's 101

I have a C7 and had all lubrication checked before taking it from the dealer! What is upsetting is that this very basic mechanical service activity was missed by GM and the dealer! It is just another indication of the poor QC their vehicles get during production and dealer delivery ! No wonder GM got their butts kicked by the foreign car manufactures!
I hope all turns out well for you baby after this overhaul!

Default Too bad you don't have a lemon law in MD

This is exactly why all states need lemon laws like California! Sorry for all you problems!
When others that have not purchased a C7 hear of these nightmares they go else where for their vehicles! The sad part is our C7 values will drop just like the 1984 Corvette did when they had all the problems!!

Also dealer installed front licensed plate adapter (did not work very well) as it took off and cracked the front bumber plastic black screen. I asked the near by dealer to claim it under warranty and they want me to go back were I purchased the car and have them deal with it. It sounds easy just to take care of it, but not realy want to do it.
Still having a few issues with memory electronics and a bad spot of paint.
Since GM replaced the differential (forgot to put oil in the factory ) the car does not feel the same, 2 nd gear grinds and the whole trans does not feel as tight as it was before the burn differential and the abropted stop at 40 miles on a turn locking all 4 wheels.
I requested GM to buy my car back and let me order a new one, hopefully full of oil and let's say the majority of electronics working with all of the paint on the car....well customer service answered they preferred to just keep fixing it.....love the car...do not like GM...I have a 2012 Cadilac CTS and the customer service sucks.
I am used to deal with BMW, Porsche and Subaru as well Ford and they are better and more responsive company's than GM. it's a shame that finally GM has produced a world class sport car and the customer service is not up to snuf. In 2004 I purchased a new 997 (911) and paid what I paid for the C7, with in a month the heads of the cylinders had to be replaced under warranty and be brough from Germany. Everything was handled like a glove and 2 weeks later I had my car back while I was driving the dealers 911. In one month plus of ownership I had my vette for a week...GM leaves a lot to be desired...

Default Our c6 and c7 do the same

My wife's C6 and my C7 make the same noise when the weather cools down, but I had them both checked to make sure the fluid levels are OK. Also, I check to make sure the fluid was the correct type!

If it's like mine, it's the npp exhaust. Sit at idle and move the ride control from tour to sport, you should hear a squeak, souns like it's coming from the passenger rear of the car, something in the exhaust opening up. If you have the engine nose setting turned off, come n and out of 4th gear you will hear the same squeak. I have not heard of a lubrication fix or service advisory yet on this but would like to.

Hello VIN 5351. At dusk and dawn dash becomes unreadable. Eg when sun comes up it eventually turns back lights on and all is fine. Any resolution?

As a 1984 C4 owner, I find this thread fascinating. I've always heard one should never purchase a car in the first year of production, but then I went out and purchased my low mileage 1984 at auction! No comparison in terms of the sophisticated electronics you all have with your C7's and from what I've seen from the previous 30 some odd pages, that's a major area that GM is going to have to focus their attention on.

And it looks like a thorough pre-flight is necessary at the dealers before delivery; certainly they would catch no oil in a rear end if they cared at all for their customers. Not like they have so many C7's to deliver that they are overworked.

Sorry if this is a digression, but I had to read through all these posts to get an idea of what the real world is like to get over the hype of the new design. Having said that, it sure is pretty!

At 210 miles the rr tire picked up a 2.5" long wheel balancing weight off the road at about 30 mph. When the weight rotated into the wheel well the weight was forced into the tire tread causing a large puncture. Wheel well was also damaged with two holes completely through.

Clearance between tire and wheel well is very small and I am concerned that those that are lowering their cars may actually be increasing the potential for this type of tire damage. Obviously I was unlucky to the tune of $425 for a new tire. Interested in hearing from others regarding this failure.

Week one I picked up a nail and had a flat tire that had to be patched from the inside. Week 2 I picked up another nail on a different tire, same thing had to be patched from the inside. Week 4 picked up another nail in yet a different tire. Same thing, had to be patched from the inside. Two months now and all is well. Don't know if this was just bad luck or sabotage.

Default Radio- My Link just went "black"

Vin 7315-Got in this afternoon , turned on the car, My Link screen was black. No radio, no power. Car has 5415 miles on it. No problems until this. Car was/is completely awesome. Hate to have people working on it. They just aren't careful. Had tint applied and the guy scratched it-lime rock with scratches....uughhhhhhh. They offered to fix so I am ok with that. Hopefully this is just something small.

Just had the update performed and the problem is fixed, huge difference. When questioned about keeping power to the car during this procedure, my dealer responded that they always keep power to the vehicle or it can cause a myriad of issues.

Default C7 rattle in dashboard

A rough road, manhole cover, etc causes an annoying thump rattle which sounds like it's coming from the dash area. Anyone else have problem and solution?

Mine did the same thing yesterday. I stopped by the dealer on the way home and they told me there is no software update but that they would replace the entire display screen? Anyone else have this issue? What is/was your resolution?
