ID#1533: Can anybody provide me the factory operating range / pounds that the Z51should be running on the gage. Mine is 30 to 35 lbs even at highway speeds, seems low based on my C5 & C6. Any information appreciated.
My Z51 oil pressure runs in the low to mid 30's at mid RPMs when warm as well. That seems low to me as well, but it's steady.
When you say pounds, are you asking about Oil pressure PSI? If so, I will check, because I noticed my Oil pressure at idle and when the engine is at full running temperature is about 20 PSI! I use the run around 35 -40 at idle in all the small Blocks I built!
Will check running pressure for you and post it for you!
You might want to check the oil pressure at idle when the engine is at full temperature.
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I am talking about the oil pressure at operating temp. At idle I am in the low 20's, at highway speed (65 - 70) mph) 30 to 35 psi on my C7. I always had higher pressure in my other Corvettes. Chevy dealer says that ok, but no specifics. I just want to see what everybody else is seeing on their gages.
May be Kelly at GM CS can provide the answer from somebody at Bowling Green
C7 Z51 VIN #1134 @ 1400 miles encountered a rattle under the car. After dealer evaluation and call to GM Tech Service, GM sends an entire new torque tube/driveshaft assembly and indicating that there had been other reports of this issue. Car is still at dealer in the process of being reassembled. Is this issue prevalent amongst other C7s?
Now, 3 weeks after the new torque tube/driveshaft assembly was installed, the replacement failed as well ! ! Now GM has shipped a new, "certified" tt/ds assembly to my dealer and it is currently being installed. Once again I ask: Is anyone else encountering this problem on Z51s ? ? ?

I have 1100 miles and some minor issues already documented but definitely not this one on my Z51!
I was fully stopped at a stop sign, shifted to 1st and as I started to give it some gas the shifter snapped very violently to neutral. It wasn't like it wasn't all the way on first gear because it was and there was no grinding noise. It was very violent and it actually hurt my hand.
I hear a lot of people saying their car shifts like butter, but mine doesn't. I took it to the dealer a month ago and the mechanic drove it and said it was too soon to determine if the shifting noises were normal or not. Sometimes the shifter feels great going into first and second gear and sometimes it fights me like as if going to fast for that gear but I'm not, it happens when I'm stopped as well.
And today I started hearing a weird noise when I turn or go trough a pot hole, like something's loose or a suspension issue. I's very hard to describe, like a wobbly sound or a vinyl record being scratched by a DJ. I'm reluctant to take it to the dealership as I think they will say things are normal or they don't know what to do. I guess I have to wait for things to get worse to take it in.
Take it in, maybe even a different dealer. You know you can go to any authorized Stingray dealer for warranty.

I was driving through North Carolina and it started out fairly warm, low 70's. Then the rain came and a fairly quick drop in temperatures down into the low 50's. The cabin was comfortable and then I felt a surge of warm moist air coming from the registers. Within 30 seconds the windows had fogged over so bad I had to pull off the road as I couldn't see out of any of the windows. I turned on the defroster and lowered the temp as low as it would go. The air did moderate however it felt like it was only pulling in outside air. After three minutes of sitting on the side of the road I could tell the compressor finally kicked in cooling the air and clearing the windows.
I've had very few issues with the C7 Z51 however I have had an ongoing gripe about the comfort control system. Similar issues have surfaced in prior threads and I hope a software update will cure most, if not all, of the known issues including mine.
The software update seemed to make a noticeable difference with my climate control. I used to have to fiddle with the temperature dial lot because the cabin would suddenly get cold then hot. I also noticed the back windshield tended to fog up.
After the Dim Instrument Panel update, none of issues above have happened anymore. In fact, now, I set the temperature setting to 70 degrees F and leave it there.

There are certain times when the car is cold that mine will snap out of first sometimes or doesn't feel right going from 1st to second, but after the car is warmed up, it shifts like butter and it was the same in my C6 manual no different between the two cars.

I've had this happen four or five times. Took it in to the dealer and they couldn't reproduce it, so concluded there's nothing wrong.
Has anyone had a problem with the the USB ports not working at all?
When I connect my iPhone to any on the USB ports, it is not recognized and the phone charging indicator doesn't light up. Is there some switch I need to hit to power up the ports?
Thanks

I responded to a survey that was sent to me and also posted the issues that I have in this thread. I love the car. This is my 4th Corvette.
I have the car in Florida and when I return after the holidays I will let the local dealer attempt to fix the car. Otherwise, I will bring it to the dealer back home when I return in the spring.
The biggest issues are the car pulling to the right even though tire pressure is perfect, the dimming problem on the dash and the center screen. I have also noticed the fan problem.
With that said, I am not posting this as a complaint but rather for information. I have a great dealer back home. I hope to get this issues fixed soon.
Any info, help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Kelly,
My VIN is 9070 and I pick it up at the Museum Dec 16th.
I'm just wondering if anyone with high VIN numbers like mine are reporting the same problem. Trying to find out if GM is fixing the problems for cars coming off the line now or will we have to look for the signs of the same problems as well.
Is there a place where we can go to see all the bulletins GM puts out detailing the problems?
My Nav screen was completely out yesterday. Drove around a bit in the afternoon and brought it home. Last night started it up to bring it into the garage and the screen worked fine.
Just picked up my Z51 vert- screens went blank twice on the ride home- then came back on. No idea why.

To postpone the unbelievable pure exhilarating enjoyment of driving this magnificent machine one minute longer because of a few simple issues such as these is ..... well I think;
1. You really do like your Cruz.
2. You live in Alaska and you need to wait until spring.
3. You just received notice that your Bugatti order will be in next week.
Go for it! You will never regret it.

Several people have asked how do we know there is a flash fix for something. Can't you get a positive answer from GM on what is available. If not you - who can. Dealers seem clueless.

I noticed some of the stitching on the drivers seat starting to come undone down the right side of the center section about belt area. I'm gonna keep my eye on it to see if it gets worse.
