Perfectly normal. It's even in the manual! You did receive one of those, yes?
(in fact, it's been a common thing as far back as C5s....)

It is normal and is due to several factors. Having had my car since early October I have picked up info along the way and commented on a solution. In fact on my web site I have a page, netwelding.com/reports_vette_info.htm
that covers all the things I have found, i.e. the Ackerman steering effect, 2 foot shorter turning radius of the c7 vs the C6 and probably most important the racing compound tires when they are cold. These are all covered. However after seeing recent comments about folks who have put on all-season tires for the winter and said that the problem has reduced or gone away, I tend to think cold tires and the tighter turning radius are the key.
I have the same issue as you with my driveway. The solution is to turn the wheel less when the tires are cold and make a K turn! That is what I am doing!

Yep, very normal. Especially for the Z51 and these sticky summer tires. The alignment can be set for performance or to limit the thunk thunk thunk. Chevy elected for performance over thunk thunk thunk at low speed, high turn events with wide sticky tires.
Vin#1533. Since I keep my C7 inside and on a battery tenderand covered, I have the following question. When inserting the power cord in the rear socket, of course the cargo lights come on and won't go off unless I completely shut the hatch on the cable. Seems like this will ruin the weatherstripping over time. Any better way I am interested in trying including removing the bulbs. Thanks in advance for any help.
On the C6 the accessory plug is always powered on. I use that to plug in my battery tender and just drop the driver's window a small amount. Some have run the cord out the door where the small water drain slots are located. I suspect the C7's accessory plug is also always powered and can be used the same way.

The two that exist up front (in the console and 1 in the center console) are switched. Only the one in the rear is hot at all times.

The accessory plug on the console is switched, off when the car is shut off. Good place to put a radar detector or use ts fuse in the rear fuse pannel, number 37.
The accessory plug in the right rear panel is always on and is used to plug in a battery charger.
I was wondering if there are any service bulletins indicating suggested or required services for my car…I'm going to make an appointment at my dealer ..Tim Lally Chevrolet in Cleveland… for the dimming issue..is there any information for my VIN in regards to the rear differential or axle.
Thank You in advance for your help,
John

Issue: Radio would randomly change channels. Radio would also not read my iPod from any USB port. When the iPod did read, it would skip thru the songs or the song playing. Also, AC would randomly come on by itself and change settings. The temp reading and level readings would also randomly disappear. Dealer spoke with Chevy engineering and discovered one of the controller modules was dead. Part was shipped from BG to dealer. No eta on arrival. Car has been at the dealer with half the dash torn a part since Thursday.
Original Problem 10/10: Car taken to dealer. After several attempts to identify problem, tech spoke with Chevy engineering. Problem identified as defect control module for A/C and Radio. Entire driver side and center console removed from car. No dealer has stock so part being shipped from BG plant.
Update 10/14: Apparently Chevy is in NO hurry to help me get my one week old car back on the road. Part identified as bad on 10/10. Still no ETA on when part will arrive. Hey Chevy, it's called overnight shipping!!
Update 10/15: Just spoke with dealer service dept. Part arrived. Did not fix the issue. Chevy is flying in an engineer who may be here by Thursday to try and figure out what the problem is. Oh and after he figures it out, I still have to wait for a freaking part to be shipped again from BG. I've owned the car for 12 days, been in in the service dept. for the last 5 of those 12 days.
Update 10/16: Just spoke with dealer service dept. Three engineers from Chevy showed up this morning to try and figure out what the issues are with my car. Should have an update later today.
Follow-up: Dealer just called and said engineers bypassed the radio and got everything to work. Appears the central control unit controls not just radio, nav, etc, but also the AC. New one being overnighted from BG and I should have my car back by end of day tom.
Update 10/17: No show on the part. Apparently issue was identified by 11am yesterday but no one ordered the damn part until 3, after the cut off for overnight shipping. Part MIGHT be here tom. Going on 8 days now at the dealership... I've owned the car for 14 days, been in the service shop for 8.... GM...UTTER FAILURE!!
Update 10/18: Radio unit replaced. All is well in the world
well Thanx for posting the timeline of the fix , my brother and I and a friend are awaiting all the issues of the first year to clear up before jumping in
Tire pressure monitor shows low air in both rear tires. Air pressure is at 31; door sticker calls for 30. I have to get above 34 to clear the monitor.
Is there a calibration update?
Anyone else have this?
Kelly, I'm re-posting my question as I have not as yet received a response. I need to know whether I need a flash update. Thank you.
I'm a liitle bit confused. I read somewhere on the forum that c7's built before 11/15 qualify for the update; those built after 11/15, the update is not necessary. My c7 was built close to 11/15 so I don't know where I stand.
My vin is 1G1YM3D77E5107274.
Please let me know my build date and if I need the update.
Thank you

More info:
I use a good gauge. The monitor pressure readout matches the gauge readings. Driven 100 miles or so. Front tires readings are also at 30 and OK. Wondering what sets the low pressure alarm. The TPMS reading is correct so something in the car's computer settings is stating they have low pressure?
Wonder what other systems that affects?

Ask your dealer. Mine was built around the same time as yours and mine did not require the update. The dealer can pull it up on the computer and tell exactly what it required at the PDI.

Hello!
Sorry for missing your question initially. We do not have anything attached to your VIN regarding a software update. Are you currently experiencing any issues with the instrument panel, or maybe the NAV screen?
With the holidays it may take a few days to get this all set up for y'all, sorry for the anticipated wait.
1Bridog- If you send me the last 8 of your VIN or your order number I can tell you when your Stingray was built.

Hi Kelly,
I have been off the site for a couple of weeks and am trying to catch up. I am not even certain if this is the correct way to PM. I have HVAC and DIC issues but have been waiting for better weather (cold in CT) to get back to the dealer. Last 8 of Vin: E5101837. Thanks.

Hey cbxvet,
This is Terrell, I am new to the forum and assisting Kelly. Yea, it's been pretty cold here in Michigan as well. So when the weather breaks and you're ready to have the HVAC and DIC looked at, feel free to PM us and we can schedule your appointment.
Not much response here but an update for anyone that may have the same issue:
Dealer appointment for Monday.
So I just received the monthly on star maintenance report and it says my air pressure needs immediate attention. Get this: It shows my current air pressure correctly (as expected) but states recommended pressures at 36 front, 41 rear! That would sure clear the alarm but take all sidewall give out of it. Way too much pressure for these tires.
Anyone else received an on star report that says that?
