Welcome to the C7 info screen going dark. Mine lasted 500 miles going on and off. Dealer had to order new one, it has been at the dealer since last friday trying to put a new one in. By the way, replacing the info center MAY NOT FIX THE PROBLEM!

My computer refreshed and I did not finish my statement. If you are one of the unfortunates to have the Info center go dark, or go erratic, Chevy will replace it (4 days in the shop and counting) but they are not guaranteeing that is the fix. They advised me they will replace my unit again sometime in February - April when the shipment of new units made by a different manufacturer comes in. I assume the replacement applies to everyone? If they replace mine with an new and improved one I guess there will be other C7 owners that will want a new one to avoid their existing potentially going dark.

The only issue I have is related to the down time of my C7 and the fact that they are tearing my dash out not once but twice. The potential of something going wrong i believe increases with every time they remove this unit. Not happy but I will give Chevy every opportunity to make it right but if they can't Lemon law is my friend. Been there done that!

WOW...THAT IS REALLY DEPRESSING....IT HASN'T HAPPENED AGAIN, BUT THE FACT THAT IT HAPPENED AT ALL IS SCARY...I KNOW THAT SOMETHING NOT RIGHT IS LURKING IN THAT DASH...ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS ARE A BIT OF A PAIN...KEEP ME INFORMED ON WHAT YOU ARE EXPERIENCING AND I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHAT I AM GETTING. GOOD LUCK..KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED...

I agree. We have a thread on actual problems. Now we need one on actual fixes, with details.

Default C7 2LT Issues noted first 2 weeks

2014 Corvette Stingray Issues evident within 2 weeks
First, the car overall is amazingly well built and a great value for the money.

Mostly minor but annoying issues which might be too numerous for a car of this price.
Both doors and hatch require alot of force to close. We Like the electric pop door open and window crack down features but they are not enough to keep from having to really push to get them closed.
Does not idle very smoothly in a drive thru or parked for a few minutes.

Sport and Track mode throaty engine sound abruptly cuts off at 25-35 mph creating a pop and strange or unusual synthetic effect that makes it seem like there might be an engine problem.

The auto pan down feature of side mirrors does not return to previous position upon shifting from Reverse to Drive. They are both then out of alignment for driving afterwards.
The steering wheel lowers when I open the door, causing me to have to move it back up to exit. The logic is therefore reversed from what it should be.

Drivers mirror heater is not quick enough. The passenger and rear defoggers are ok.
Nav voice is way too low to hear over stereo.
The radio power button does not turn off the radio between engine off and exit from the vehicle. I should be able to turn off the display without opening the door.

The radio channel preset swipe to next bank function is not nearly sensitive enough. You have to keep swiping one or two fingers to make a change to the next set of presets.
There are 2 buttons on steering wheel that hang up a call but none that answer!!! You have to answer from the screen.

The voice recognition system is pretty inaccurate! An example is saying number or option 3. It appears that some of the words including the on-screen commands have not been programmed in at all. Also some options spoken select other options on the list. I have no accent and have tried different pitch and volume of voice.
Sometimes XM pause and rewind feature does not work, intermittent function
The blue tooth audio will often lose the sound part of the connection and has to be reestablished when changing songs using the steering wheel next favorite controls. It will continue to display the song on the screen but lose all sound.

The rear window sometimes quickly loses almost complete visibility due to wet spots at just the right angle.

deja vu, reminiscent of the '50s, except now its a quality control issue (less control=more profit), not a developing technology issue. sad. in many ways im eager to receive my vehicle, and in these ways, not so much. id love to see GM regain the status it once had, or at least head in that direction, and with the new cv, strong performance by cadillac, we are doing a lot of things well. people want quality, above most all other things. no one wants to spend their time with their car driving back and forth between the dealers service department--despite how enjoyable such trips can be (not intending to speak for the planet).

I think you need to bring your car in for service. I have almost none of those problems your speaking of. The memory for the seats is the only issue all of us are having if you have the manual 7 speed. The auto's don't work the same way, and that's really the issue. There will be no fix anytime soon for this one problem if at all. I got to speak to a GM area manager while my car was in for the dim flash last week. At this point he told me, it was designed and working the way it should although he did see my point.

Default Scratches in paint after dealer applied "paint protectant"

3LT Z51

HI ALL-ME AGAIN..

I know..I know....I sure wish I had someone with me when I said "go ahead" and put the protectant on my car...well I wish I could take it back now...I am getting so many scratches on the car..not sure if it is really protecting or making it worse...I think my microfiber cloth is actually scratching it...I am going back to the dealer to see if they can remove it...any ideas? I don't want it to mess up my beautiful Lime Rock paint or my clear coat...but it is sure getting scratched and I am not taking it anywhere??? Strange....I paid that astonomical price to get this sealer put on the car so they should figure out why it is getting damaged, right? They are probably going to say-where are you parking??? It's a good thing the car is dark....wow....

However, this "lowest setting" is still too high for my tastes. My C6 seemed to have a nice slower but steady lowest setting fan speed when the A/C was on. Does anyone have any suggestions how to get the fan to turn at a lower RPM but still move air into the car's inside when the A/C is on (yeah here in Florida it is still nice and warm)?
Same here, fan speed on lowest setting is too strong. I have to send the air to both the window and dash air vents to cut the flow of air down to a manageable level while on the lowest speed.

Default Butt Dimples Anyone?

Hello everyone, I'm wondering if anyone is experiencing what I'm calling "butt dimples". Basically, I noticed two "dings" near the rear cross flag logo in about the same position on either side. I know for a fact these are not true hits because my car is garage stored, has never been parked unattended, and is covered when in storage. Further, the "dings" are too high to make sense how they would have gotten there. However, after seeing the tear down Theo Harris posted when he had is differential failure, it dawned on me that the butt dimples might be caused by the bowtie shaped support piece I've circled in the image below pushing against the fascia (unfortunately the dimples are hard to photograph on my car, but are very noticeable when viewing in the sun or reasonably close). Has anyone else seen these on their vettes or even checked for them?

I just got my car back.

My tire was losing pressure because it had a screw in it. They patched it for no charge.

They fixed my dimming **** for the gauges. It wasn't connected from the factory and it now works correctly.

They did an alignment on my car but it still pulls slightly to the right. Seems like these cars just do it naturally.

My memory seats work as intended. The parking brake must be engaged for the manual seats to return to their position with just one touch.

My software was upgraded as per my request based upon the the link posted here.

I had a nice brand new 2014 Silverado as a loaner. It is a really nice truck!

Both doors and hatch require alot of force to close. We Like the electric pop door open and window crack down features but they are not enough to keep from having to really push to get them closed. Try lowering the hatch to the latch then gently push it closed. It generally won't close and latch if you just try to slam it from an open position.
Does not idle very smoothly in a drive thru or parked for a few minutes. Nope, it's not the smoothest idle and doesn't redline at 9000 RPM. But then for a performance engine it also doesn't shake your fillings loose at idle. If yours is really rough, have your dealer check it.

This sounds like the memory recall positions and the exit position haven't been set. If you have set these positions and the above still occurs, see your dealer.

Drivers mirror heater is not quick enough. The passenger and rear defoggers are ok.
Nav voice is way too low to hear over stereo. Page 28 of the Infotainment System manual "Voice Volume
Adjust the loudness of the audio feedback by pressing the − or + button. If a maneuver prompt is being played, and the main volume
is adjusted, the prompt volume will update and be saved."

The radio power button does not turn off the radio between engine off and exit from the vehicle. Hold the button for a few seconds. Just pushing it mutes the radio. I should be able to turn off the display without opening the door.

The radio channel preset swipe to next bank function is not nearly sensitive enough. You have to keep swiping one or two fingers to make a change to the next set of presets. Mine was fairly well adjusted, so I haven't used the "Calibrate Touchscreen" option in the Display setting menu, but this may help with the above.
There are 2 buttons on steering wheel that hang up a call but none that answer!!! You have to answer from the screen. If yours is operating correctly then, from page 74 of the Infotainment System manual "Accepting a Call
There are three ways to accept a call:
. Press [answer button] on the steering wheel
controls.
. Press Answer on the center
stack display.
. Press Answer on the instrument
cluster using the select button."

The voice recognition system is pretty inaccurate! An example is saying number or option 3. It appears that some of the words including the on-screen commands have not been programmed in at all. Also some options spoken select other options on the list. I have no accent and have tried different pitch and volume of voice.

The rear window sometimes quickly loses almost complete visibility due to wet spots at just the right angle. Maybe dirty glass? Sounds like certain portions are fogging.

What kind of protection did the dealer install? I had the NCM apply Xpel film when I picked up my vette. It will self-heal if it gets scratches and protects against small dings and rock chips and has a 10-yr warranty. I'm very happy with the way it looks too. Stay away from the 3M film.

Default Wheel and suspension worries....

I have just learned the the Rims ( 2LT ) on my C7 2LT #3658 are very fragile. While driving at 30 mph on a windy back country road I hit a pot hole on the passenger side. The hole was max 12" diameter and no more than 1.5 inches deep ( stopped and looked ). It managed to dent both the pass. front and rear rims, bounce up and hit the inner cardboard sound dampener on the rear...dislodging ( ripping ) it, folding up, and causing the rear quarter glue joint to separate ( simple fix with epoxy and clamp). This should not have happened with this little "bump" ... which if no rubbing of the cardboard was heard I would have kept going because it did not feel bad ( nice suspension...except no travel limits in the design ). The good news is that I have the Zurich tire and rim wheel hazard insurance so zero charge ...but they are saying the wheel well and fender gluing is billable ...so I am fixing that. It is akin to saying if I turn the wheel to far and the stock supplied tire hits the fender and it causes damage, it is my fault because I turned the wheel. I contend there should be a suspension travel stop ( and not the inner panel as the stop).

Do others find this suspension travel bad and rims fragile?

Sorry to hear about your tire and wheel problems. Glad to see you had the hazard warranty. Did you get that from your dealer and does it have to be purchased at the time of sale? Considering I've had to replace two tires on my van due to road hazard damage, one when I was in BG picking up the vette, I would like some coverage on my new vette.

I went back to the dealer 2 days later ( had to clear it with the Boss ), and got the full packages, I got the 80 month bumper to bumper at original purchase, I added the finish and interior and the road hazard. I do not know if offered much after or not ...but ONLY get stuff from the dealer because of possible issues trying to collect down the road.
