No that's not what I asked. I asked you, what would you do? Last time. What would you do if you were a forum member in this case?

Thanks. I'm sure those who did preorder know what to do now.

Sammy,

You are now offering to have a "finished" unit installed in NYC?

Want happy customers? It is easy. Want to end this SPAM? It's easy. Want to repair your company reputation, here is the way to start.

Ship my unit without the missing end cap. Ship it without the LEDs that are on the missing end cap. If you have "finished" units to offer others, I want one that functions but it does not to be pretty. I don't need any stinking videos. I don't need any stinking pictures. I don't need any stinking installation instructions. Just put the board and harnesses in a box and send it to me. If I plug it in and it works as advertised I don't need any stinking warranty either. If I break as a result I'll order another at full price when they are generally available. I'll post enough info here that will end this for you.

Seem easy enough?

Hurry up before the forum moderators delete this thread too.

Closed for review. It's difficult to tell at first glance what's afoot. We'll try to figure it out.

The issue between NavTool.com and its customers appears to have been poorly handled all the way around.

Customers have tried to get their concerns addressed in ways that are in conflict with site rules, rather than asking site moderators/administrators to intervene on their behalf. One such customer has posted 50 times so far this month attacking NavTool and/or Corvetteforum.

NavTool has failed to address the concerns of customers in a meaningful and reassuring manner and has resorted to personal attacks and flip responses.

Moderators who saw the conflicts have tried to address them conventionally by enforcing site rules, rather than also escalating the matter.

I learned of the conflict Tuesday night from a NavTool customer. I’m still reviewing the posts that have been made on each side of the conflict and have exchanged PMs with representatives on each side of the issue. I’m seeking additional information, including the experience of other automotive sites with this product and this vendor.

Meanwhile, I’ve asked the vendor to voluntarily suspend further sales at Corvetteforum until pending orders have been filled. I’ve asked them to put us in touch with anyone who has successfully installed and used the product so we can get some specifics. I’ve requested that the vendor consider refunding the payments of each customer whose order will not be delivered within 60 days of their credit card payment. Further, I recommended that the vendor agree to honor the originally quoted price to anyone who is given a refund and later decides they want to re-order once units have been delivered and they are assured the product exists and works as expected.

I expect all involved to proceed within the rules of Corvetteforum. If you have questions you believe are not being addressed, please let me know via PM.

Corvetteforum has suspended the supporting vendor status of NavTool as the result of concerns here and at other Internet automotive communities over when the vendor will be able to deliver orders that have been paid for.

It’s possible, of course, that there have been production delays beyond the control of the vendor and that the product will be delivered promptly once the issues are addressed. If that ends up being the case, we can consider restoring the vendor’s status once we hear from satisfied customers.

We’ll leave the vendor on the site so he can continue to communicate with customers via PMs, but he will not be able to post any further sales or marketing threads.

If you have a pending order with NavTool, you have the option of cancelling the order and asking your credit card company to reverse the charge or sticking it out to see if your order is delivered as promised. If you will let me know via PM who you are, the status of your order and your decision on how you will proceed, I’ll be glad to work with you offline until there is some conclusion to the matter.

I've polled the people who told me they were awaiting refunds or orders from NavTool. Most of them said they got refunds through their credit card companies. A few said they are awaiting shipment of the NavTool order.

I contacted NavTool this morning, asking:

NavTool:

You told customers to expect to get their orders to be shipped by the end of February if they were among the first to pre-order.

Have you shipped those orders? If so, how many? If not, why and when do you expect those orders to ship? When will other pre-sold orders ship?

Have your completed making refunds to all of your customers who requested a refund?
This is the response I received:

hi we are waiting to receive end caps this weeks to start shipping, 75% of customers that cancelled reinstated their orders
If you are a NavTool customer and did not hear from me by PM yesterday, please contact me by PM and let me know who you are and your situation.

I believe these orders originally were expected to be shipped by the end of December, then January and then February. I'm not aware that anyone has received their paid order as yet.

NavTool is no longer a supporting vendor at Corvetteforum. They did not meet our expectations for customer service and communications with site users. Customers can continue to share information about order fulfillment in the existing thread in C7 General so long as they do so within site rules.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...6-navtool.html

I encourage NavTool customers to keep me in the loop on the status of their orders so I have the information available for the record on the chance NavTool at some future point should apply for reinstatement.
