I down loaded the PDF a few weeks back to have the instructions on how to install it. After I saw the instructions, I said hell this is easy. Hard part is going to be to secure it so there aren't any rattles and no pressure on the plugs.

Not packaged very well. It was placed in a UPS pad pack and then in a UPS box. I guess I was expecting more professional packaging.

BTW.....there were no instructions

Ed, a month back or so Sammy emailed me Installation Instructions. Send me your email address and I will forward you the email. Keep us all posted as you progress. Glad to hear someone really received the elusive NavTool.

Leadrope, are those the revised instructions that include running a cable to the passenger side footwell? If so, could you email me a copy? Your message inbox is full, my email is a471133@gmail.com. Thanks

Do what?

I don't see any wire going to the passenger side foot well??

It looks to me that the 2 wire connections blue connector and black connector simply put the Navtool in series in the wiring.

I seem to recall in one of their installs/videos that one of the wires ran to the passengers side in a revised version. Did I hallucinate this?

I seem to recall that too but the picture of the unit doesn't have wires long enough to get to the passenger foot well. As I see it the navtool has blue wires going from the original connection in the HMI unit through the navtool with gender changing blue wires to put it in series and the same thing for the power leads.

I will try to get it posted for all to see. It was sent in Feburary so they might not resemble the unit that is shipping at all.

I wonder if the revised installation instructions include how to reprogram the interface to add and delete cameras via PC. I requested one front camera but may want to add others (assuming my hardware arrives).

I don't know if a software program is required or perhaps just a text string uploaded via the USB port. Dip switches would have been an easier route.

Leadrope, thanks for sending this. It's the same one thats posted on Navtools website.

If they did revise the power cable at some point, I wonder why and I am pretty sure that they didn't ship out units with revised parts.

Default Instructions

These Installation Instructions were sent to me from NavTool in February. No idea if they are still valid.

I believe those instructions are outdated and all installation is done on the drivers side. But since mine is not here yet I can't verify.

I don't have a clue. It's among the last things NavTool posted before their activity was restricted.

Guys, just analyzed the picture that EdsC7 posted today after he got his unit. If you look at the green cable closely, it looks like there is a black connector coming out of the back middle of that cable. I believe the other multicolored cable plugs in here, giving it enough length to reach the drivers side.

I also looked at another thread started by SSJay today, which was closed by one of the mods. This looks like a Navtool post and shows the same cable setup. The thread is titled "just got my bee navtool today".

If EdsC7 can confirm that his green cable has a black connector in the middle, I think the "revised install" instructions are the ones we should use. The resurrected Navtool thread has them stating that they changed the original drivers side install due to a safety concern.

For what it's worth, I had these same instructions emailed to me by NavTool on 2/16.

I guess the revised instructions they posted on Feb 22 is the one to use, because Navtool's CEO just emailed me to ask the mods to unblock the rest of that post. He says there are more pictures to show the entire revised install. Guess Navtool is still following these threads.

Yeah, looking through everything there must be more to the story if the 2/22 post is the right set of instructions, and not the .pdf. If NavTool is monitoring this, they should also make sure future shipments include accurate instructions. Had it not been for the diligence of this forum, I would have installed mine with faulty instructions and risk the "major safety concern." Not cool.
