Dealer did the 500 mile change out with (I assume since the car is a 2019) Mobile 1 0W-40
I also heard back from the tech today. They believe it is a collapsed AFM lifter, have the parts on order. I'm wondering if that would explain why the car didn't run like crap after the incident.
Anyway, if all goes according to plan, I'll have the car back next week some time

Good news.. I did not read all the posts but did they give you another vette to use in mean time?

I cringe every time I see the way your car is secured with those straps through the wheels. WTF. He should have used the T hook slots in the frame. Might as well get an alignment while the car is at the dealer.
^ There's nothing wrong strapping to the wheels/tires. That's how all major transporters strap cars. Usually on e-track with a strap "around" the top of the tire. Some prefer it as it doesn't load the suspension. With my enclosed I use the frame slots rear in a X and the fronts I do the wheel spokes out wide just because it's easy vs. crawling along the car in the enclosed trailer.
That said, OEM alignments are all over the map.. the factory just gets them close. Getting one to exact specs is always a good idea
e-track with a strap "around" the top of the tire.
That method is acceptable and a perfect alternative to the T hook method.
They do not ship Vettes from the factory with straps through the wheels, although you will see private open deck carriers hauling used cars with straps through the wheels.
Sorry for the hijackski, back to engine failure topic.

Either way, it's only about 10 minutes to the dealer from my driveway. I'm good with it (as I've been meaning to have my alignment checked since I put the PS3+ A/S on anyway )
Will do, except the lack of an ME manual will most likely keep the orange one in my garage for many years to come as long as she behaves as nicely as she has so far.
Same here. I can't see why I'd want to sell my C7/M7/convertible anytime in the next several years.
