I hate to say it, but they're cheap 200-cell cats not approved by the EPA; I battled this same fight on my C7 which is why I made sure to get the EPA 49-state legal 400-cell cores on my C8. I'm not trying to rub it in at all as I know how frustrating it can be!

You could try the mini-cat spacers: http://www.bigdaddiesgarage.com/mini-cat-cel-fix.html

Normal the more & more you open up the exhaust; you'll also hear your V8/V4 transition more audibly now as well.

With some using 2m cat delete pipes, and o2 spacers, successfully. I would look elsewhere. Any way to borrow another O2 sensor to rule out failure. Have your shop check it out. Good Luck, you will get it fixed. Ron B.

The cats were installed with the O2 Spacers, so a bit confused why this came up. Any thoughts?
do you know if the spacers provided from 2m have mini cats or are they just spacers? What year C8 do you have? Ive read 2021 had more problems with the codes popping up

If the plugs are the same he could switch O2’s driver to passenger side and see if the codes come up on the other bank or stays on the same bank

Im just using the spacers that were provided by 2M. It’s a 2022.

Good idea, will be messing with the sensors now.

MY shop confirmed this with me as well saying they're having more exhaust-related codes on the 2021+ vs. the 2020. As emissions standards get tougher the OEMs are having to get more sensitive. I do miss the good old days of a simple non-fouler spacer being enough to trick the ECU even with a testpipe!

You could try a straight spacer as well if there's enough room, it's possible with the angled spacer the sensor isn't seeing enough exhaust flow (this was part of the issue on my C7).

That might be the best bet, it seems like the sensors are just fine. I’ll do some research and see what I can find. I imagine the install won’t be too bad, or is the labor similar to having to replace the cat?

I miss the old days, when you could use HPT, and you could actually tune your car.

There's an exhaust leak! Just a gasket failure, easy fix, hopefully, the shop won't have to take the whole thing apart, and can be done relatively easily. If you're purchasing these Cats, I'd advise purchasing the gaskets separately! I feel the air escaping when I hover my finger over the crack.

Well that's good and bad news and should be an easy fix. Let us(me) know what new gasket you purchase?
I purchase 3 of the OEM rear driver side gaskets and will have to open the bolt hole or use smaller than supplied bolts. My Stainless works cats came with 1/2-16 bolts

Did the installer make that gasket? That doesn't look like a manufactured gasket to me.

That was the gasket provided by 2M. Upon further investigation, it seems like most people purchase gaskets separately because of its quality.

Just take the gasket down to the local parts store, they have metal reinforced exhaust gaskets. Just a thought.

We are replacing the gasket. Just unsure if we’ll replace all gaskets, or just the one that is cracked.

im thinking to replace the cracked one for now, and if the CEL comes back on then we’ll replace all gaskets.

Go ahead and replace them all now and save yourself the headache down the road.

I just ordered their cat replacement straight pipe. They already shipped!!!!, so they were true to their web site and had them in stock. After reading this thread, I did not order their gaskets. So can you help me out with part numbers for good gaskets. Summit should have them here quick if I know what to order. Thanks in advance.

Just get them from a local GM dealer. They probably have them in stock. You'll need 2 triangle style gaskets part # 23194206 and you'll reuse one triangle gasket from the passenger side cat as well as a donut gasket from the driver's side cat. See my write-up on this here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1603888106

I purchased the 3 passenger side rear catalytic converter gaskets. Only problem is for the header to catalytic side the bolts are 1/2”. I’m actually looking for a correct set. Two other option are just use smaller bolts or find a metal punch and open up the oem gasket holes. I’ve spent zero time trying to locate a aftermarket set. What you need it 3” collector gasket with 4.25 center to center bolt holes that are 1/2”.

2m ships all the bolts you need to get everything put together. No need in opening up holes or getting other bolts.
