Ive had the cats for six months hanging out in my office waiting for me to install them. I was dreading doing the work and I'll say I was hating it all the way through during the install. Took me about 11 hours in 1 day and ended up with bruises on my forearms because of the those freaking exhaust heat shield bolts. The cat bolts were so tight that I thought I was going to break a 1/2" extension at one point. Ive done extensive work on cars and this job was up there in the this sucks category. Start up after job completion was totally worth it though. I'm never doing that job again. 🤣

I will say taking the trunk lid off helped alot. I just marked the hinge positions with chalk before removing the bolts. Worked perfect and super easy to wipe off after the job was done.

The coating on those looks outstanding, compared to raw stainless steel.

Did you use the 2M gaskets? And their O2 spacer? Or what did you go with?

Yes, you need all that. Mine came w/ the gaskets when I bought 2 yrs ago, not sure if you have to buy separately now or what but you need those and definitely need the spacers to keep from throwing a cel. You also need the blankets or get them coated.

Michael @ SPC does great work and is fairly priced.
I trust him, Ruben @ SoCal Porting, and Scott @ SSPowderCoating in Brookings, SD.

Placed my order for cats. I have the paragon touring exhaust. Did any of you guys who have aftermarket cats and exhaust, did you notice any loss of power?

Also when do they typically ship out? it's been 2 days and no tracking yet. Thanks!

The 2M gaskets are trash. They crumble very quickly and youll have leaks along with the associated CELs. Save yourself the hassle and get 3 OEM triangle gaskets and a new donut gasket, theyre cheap.

Nothing noticeable, just louder and better sounding. Its hard to imagine not picking up some power if anything.

I received my 2m cats within a week or so

Just realized this. I am installing the cats as we speak and I read somewhere the 2M CATs inlet use the same gasket as the stock cats. You need the same gaskets as the passenger side CAT out 23194206 GM
