Not a problem. This is in the Tech section, but many weren't venturing in there. This will be made a sticky here shortly. This thread will mirror the Tech section thread, as well.

what about the full reboot process on the memory seats?

It may already be available, but where? Also if it is, or is made available, will the "flash upgrade" have any notable affect on the reboot?
Thanks for a GREAT THREAD!

How to Remove the OEM Lower Coil Covers?

Hello,

I am in the process of installing new Lower Coil Covers on my C7, Z51 (dry sump engine)... I had no trouble removing the OEM Lower Coil Cover on the driver side, but I have encountered a problem with the passenger side Coil Cover.... There is what appears to be a vacuum line for the dry sump system protruding from the OEM Lower Coil Cover, along with a nipple style plug in a rubber grommet. I have wiggled, pulled, and twisted it, but it doesn't move.

FYI, it is located about in the center of the Lower Coil Cover; and, this "connector" that I am referring to is the white colored image on the passenger side, Lower Coil Cover, near the center of the Coil Cover, and adjacent to the fuse box...(see the pix below). The problem is I am having difficulty "unplugging" that rubber grommet/ connector so I can remove the OEM Lower Coil Cover. Obviously, I am concerned about breaking the plug and/or rubber grommet; so, does anyone know how to remove it??? Thanks!!

While I would have preferred for you to have started a new thread for this, there is a simple answer.

The connector you're talking about is held in with two plastic clips on either side of the opening. Carefully pull on it while applying gentle force with a very thin panel tool to loosen one clip side and then repeat for the other.

The clips are quite fragile - mine broke the first time it was removed.

Thanks, Theta! Sorry about the thread issue.... I'll need to wait until tomorrow when I have plenty of good light. Just to confirm about the two plastic clips - there is one on each side of the opening, as opposed to one on top and one on the bottom of the opening? Thanks, again!

No worries, bud.

On mine (which should be the same plastic casting), the clips were front (toward the hood) and back (toward the cabin).

Several people have broken these, and there is no easy part replacement - you need the whole damned tube assembly. A lot of it came from being cold and brittle in the winter months. With heat from a recently-warm engine, I think they'd come out rather easily.

If you do end up breaking it, one of the clips will fall into the hole - use a spring-grabber or a dowel and bubble gum to grab it out. Ask how I know... After that, you can get by with the single clip and a larger O-ring to hold it in place.

Edit: This reminds me to look in the newly-updated GMSO parts system to see if they sell just those connectors. I'm sure a lot of people will end up breaking them sooner or later.

Thanks, Theta!! Interesting...I was composing the following question for you when I saw your response --- "Theta...just in case I break it, do you know the part number - presume that you got your replacement at a Chevrolet dealer...Thanks!"

Wow, this is a wonderful posting. Thank you for the work it took to do this for all of us.

Question, is there a posting anywhere for how to turn on the rear camera and have the in-dash display show the rear camera shot all of the time so we can see out the rear?

The convertible does not allow very good rear vision except looking up out the back. Looking straight out the back, or down is impossible unless you cram your heat into the top.
