1967 was intended to be the first year of the C3. However, Duntov needed more time to clean up the new car’s shape and eliminate some aerodynamic instability. As a result, you’d expect that the 1967 Corvette would simply be a carryover of the 1966 model, but instead, it received some instantly recognizable styling updates.
The three-segment front fender vents were replaced with five smaller ones, and the rocker trim was simplified and enlarged. Instead of the ribs that had remained a constant (albeit in three different guises) on previous model years, the 1967 Corvette’s rocker trim was flat, with a black center section flanked by stainless steel on either side.
