I figure around November 2030.

I know some of you wish you could see this done already but I'm pretty sure I said earlier in this thread and a number of other places on the forum:

"I'm not the most driven person in the world"

So, yeah, could be a while.

That's perfectly fine.
I am a driven person.
My problem is that I need to finish landscaping and remodeling our home before I can start on the resto/mod of my 73.
I budget what I can and put parts up on the shelf until I have the time to get started.
At least mine is drive-able now and I get to enjoy it every now and then.

I hope you're able to get everything done in a reasonable time frame and get to your '73.

Yes.
Part of the landscaping is to build a new shed next to the garage which will give me the space I need in the garage to pull the body off the frame of the 73.
Part of the remodel work (after the master bedroom, master bath and closet) is to build new shelves and cabinets in the garage for the same purpose.
I hope to get the landscaping completed this fall and complete the remodel work by the end of winter.

Life is so short, do what makes you happy. I'm toying with cobalt blue and a silver of some sort (gunmetal, steel city grey) and trying to determine a good pattern for a two tone. Since you have a good painter giving out the family pricing deal: why not combine the two?

I was thinking of doing both colours but I saw a chrome bumper C3 done up in the same sort of two tone as a 78 Silver Anniversary and I thought the two tone on the chrome bumper car didn't go as well as it did on the rubber bumper car. Hot pink and blue is what I originally wanted to paint the Eagle SX/4 in my avatar with but I couldn't find anyone at the time that made a hot pink. I am thinking about doing the car either the Ford Blue Candy Metallic or the hot pink and then painting the bulge in the 79 hood the other colour, maybe continuing the centre stripe down the back of the car.

Several weeks ago I put my rear bumpers back on so I could start reworking the remainder of the bumper brackets. And then I started to think I wasn't really happy with the positioning of the bumpers. I had already adjusted the bumper position once and thought it was good enough but the more I looked at them the more I decided I wasn't really happy with them. I thought to myself, "Do I really want to start this all over again?" and decided I did. So, it was quite a can of worms I opened up. I moved my mounting holes up a bit and then I had to rework all the bumper brackets I had previously modified to fit the new bumper position. So, about 40 days later I'm basically back to where I thought I was in the middle of August, lol! Now admittedly I wasn't working real hard or consistently during those 40 days but all the same it was quite a bit more work to the bumper position more to my liking. The driver's side was almost close enough I was tempted to leave it but the passenger side was off a little more and I decided I couldn't live with that.

I twice had previously cut the mounting pads on the bumper, bent them slightly and re-welded them in a new position to fit flush to the fiberglass. I ended up having to cut those mounting pads apart yetagain and this time I ended up with the bumper mounting pads at basically the same angle they were before I started cutting and bending them - that was sure fun to find out!

So after 40 days or so I went from this:

To this:

Was it worth all the tweaking and fussing? Is it even noticeable? I suppose to me it is (even if I needed a level to see the difference), lol!

Back in July Hubby asked me if I could have all the bumper stuff done and the factory gas tank back in by winter. I told him I couldn't see any problem doing that - oops! We've had some snow already although usually there won't be a snow that stays for another month or so. Wish me motivation and luck!

I think it was worth it, i can see a vast world of progress and the last pic looks super good to me,

Snow?, no kidding, it was in the 90s today, very humid, i was thinking about tackling some stuff in the basement but even now at midnight it feels cool going in there but i warm up quickly,

Still on yours im thinking you can be at a point that makes both you and hubby happy before you need to break out parkas,
And again, yours is my go to thread for real down to earth motivations....

I'd say it was worth while too. It's a difficult thing to get right as the car has so many fifdiffer angles involved.
But I think you nailed it.

My husband says this sort of thing is why it costs people $100-200k to pay someone else to get it "just right"
