Hey you got half a dress drawn. Sounds like a good design. Top half or bottom half?
Top half. The page sat around for about 3 months waiting for me to finish it and one day I thought "Who am I kidding, I don't have the creativity for this and threw it out."
This is exactly what my vast imagination came up with:
Not exactly creative, eh? Lol!
I'm a little slow, I just now got what Derekderek meant by a "good design"
Heck Pria,
It sounds like you need to go shopping.
Tell your husband you’ll be gone the weekend, have HIS credit card in your hand and let him know you are looking for something in between the price for the Golden Globe dress and the little black date night dress and have some fun.
Maybe even pick up some designer welding glasses.
lol

OldCarBum, I think the designer welding glasses might be more my speed. I'm too old and fat to wear the sort of clothes I like, but I'm good with that.
Hubby gave me $50 today but I can't think of anything I want other than a lighter I asked him about several months ago - its priced at $250 though.
Priya, you are doing fantastic work! You put most of us guys to shame! You really need your own garage for your 79. Did you know that the 68 Corvette interior was designed by a woman?
And this is the best part, they had the whole car designed and they just threw the 68 interior design at her to design and they never would show her what the whole car looked like! That's crazy. Lou.

Thanks so much loup68
I did not know the 68 Corvette interior was designed by a woman - that's quite a surprise to me that a woman would doing that in 68. If you know anymore about it, I'd enjoy hearing it.
I'll never look at an early C3 interior the same way again.
Earlier I mentioned holding a level along the soft edge of the rear bumper where it goes forward along the quarter panel. This is quite a challenge on slippery chrome with its random reflections. The picture below shows this very well when you compare how well you are able to see the horizontal edge of the bumper where the electrical tape is versus where its just chrome. Note the horizontal white reflection on the electrical tape and the crazed reflections in the chrome - its a lot easier to judge where the soft edge of the bumper is by estimating the middle of the white reflection on the matte finish of the electrical tape than it is to tell where the soft edge is on the chrome:
The level also doesn't slip around as much when you're holding it against the electrical tape which is important when you have to continually move your eyes between the bubble and checking whether the level is parallel to the soft horizontal edge of the bumper. Just as I was finishing up this bumper alignment I discovered its even more stable for the level you're holding if you lay down 2 or 3 layers of masking tape along the soft edge of the bumper and then put black electrical tape over top of that. This really gives the sharp edge of the level a significant cushion so its even less likely to slip from where you've lined it up.
I see doorgunner put the level along the top edge of the quarter panel part of the rear bumper. Somehow that never occurred to me, so maybe what I've posted here is besides the point. I can't check on my car as its in a tiny car box for the winter but I wonder if the top edge of that part of the bumper is parallel to the soft edge at the midway point of that part of the bumper.
If you're sending me a PM please be prepared to wait up to 2 or 3 weeks for a response. This past year I've taken regular breaks from the internet by having my husband disconnect my internet for typically 2 or 3 weeks at a time - I don't get back on the internet until I need to and then I'm typically online for 2 or 3 weeks or whatever.
I want to express my apologies to those of you who've sent me PMs that I've not responded to for weeks. I appreciate hearing from you and welcome your PMs.
" I see doorgunner put the level along the top edge of the quarter panel part of the rear bumper. "
I "eyeballed" the bumper as much as I used the level.
I also "leveled" the body/chassis fore/aft/left/right before leveling the bumpers. I probably forgot to mention that in my thread
"Leveling" each bumper on a granite surface....then add modeling clay to the top of each bumper and pressing down on the level until IT is level also helps when leveling the bumpers on the car itself. (I forgot to take pics of the modeling clay method).
doorgunner, I've been trying to find in your thread where you modified the bumpers to fit closer to the car and I can't seem to find it. What page should I start at to see how you modified your bumpers?
Check the table of contents on page 1 because I bounce around and haVe bumper mods/pics throughout the thread.
Most of the serious info starts on page 197 and continues.
NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART...…..OR FOR THOSE WHO ACTUALLY ARE EXPERTS AT BODY WORK.
THE GOOD NEW IS...….BEING A ROOKIE-----I THINK I CAN DO ANYTHING
So, hubby said I can get another colour test panel sprayed. I got the idea when CF member Sharkie's blue 76 caught my eye and I asked him to send me some pictures. There's a lot of shades of blue that look great in the sun, but a lot fewer that look really good on an overcast day as well. That's what stands out about the trim code 22 bright blue metallic on Sharkie's car. I can't wait to see the test panel!
I know its just pictures, but this colour looks to have great promise
Not only a great color.....but a great paint job, too!!!! STUNNING on the 'appearance' meter.
And with the silver interior, that is a fantastic looking combination. I prefer the 78/79 body style over the 74-77, but if I'd come across that exact car I'd have been very tempted to buy it.

So, another six months gone by and nothing done on the Corvette. Yes, its in storage but I have a number of small pieces I could have worked on and didn't. Looking back, I wish I had just stuck a couple of pace car spoilers on it and been done. I couldn't sleep last night thinking about what its going to take to finish it off and how long that might be. So, I'm thinking of leaving the 79 front clip on it and just finishing off the rear end. As far as I know I have all the pieces to finish off the 69 front end except for the front clip. I could sell all those and get some money back to help out with the budget which is down to $3500 out of which still needs to come a paint job and the front clip, to say nothing of all the vortec/tpi pieces I bought to upgrade the engine.
