Priya's 79 chrome bumper conversion project
The conventional wisdom is that they are good for something like 4200 to 4400 rpm. I selected my parts based on this 383 vortec/tpi build on thirdgen.com:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/afte...-tpi-dyno.html
His 383 pulled to 6000 rpm so I'm hoping by basing my parts selection on his build I'll be able to turn similar rpm numbers. Everyone says it can't be done, but there you have it. The pretty engine is one of the reason I chose TPI.

Oh Priya I sent Don an email to contact you.
I finished filling and shaping the exhaust filler panel around the corner bumper mount. The filler was getting pretty thick around where the blue arrow is so I didn't add enough there to make a smooth transition - it'll be covered by the bumper anyway.
I got the last bumper bracket done on the passenger side. I have the same two shown in the picture below left to do on the driver's side. I'm pretty sure I can finish them both off in less than two weeks, maybe less than one week
I painted all the passenger side bumper brackets purple, or at least that was the plan. I had two little cans of purple paint and when I went to the second one it wouldn't spray so I ended up finishing them with a blue. They all look black except in direct sunlight. I'll paint the driver's side a light colour, probably the Cat yellow my husband has laying around. This way when the bumper brackets come off in the future it won't be such a jigsaw puzzle figuring out which bracket goes on which side.
Just to make sure, I tried fitting the passenger side bumper once again with all the finished bumper brackets in place, everything still lines up:
The inner bracket that goes to the lower part of the bumper (blue arrow) was a pretty big pain in the *** to get aligned as you have to bolt it to the bumper first and feed it through the hole in the exhaust filler panel, hold the bumper in place and see if it lines up to the hole in the frame cross member. Quite a bit of trial and error to get that one lined up.
On the bracket with the red arrow I know there's a rubber washer that I think goes on the outside of the quarter panel between the quarter panel and the bumper. Should I have some kind of rubber washer or sheet of rubber on the other bumper mounting points as well?

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I wouldnt sell all those front end parts either....finish the rear end...relax and drive it some to enjoy the work you put into it....the front end will still be there
He's a "guy". Just tell him that you need him present to oversee and offer constructive guidance in addition to the extra 'hands on deck'. Isn't that how women get men to do what they want most of the time???

It's actually the Eagle in my avatar that I wanted help on. Hubby does the mechanical and I do the bodywork. The Eagle was in the garage all winter. I took it for a drive last October and the steering was quite erratic so hubby bought every front end steering and suspension parts. We were going to put those in while the Corvette was in storage but we couldn't sync up our work times to do it.
