So they were featured on that show. Big effing deal. How many crappy products have you seen featured on those shows over the years? It's not like they only endorse products that they've tested. You pay the fee, they feature your product. I saw them feature one of these the other day: http://www.globalautoshop.com/perfor...ake/vortex.htm

Holy smokes!!!! Over 900 posts. I read maybe 50 of them.... Wow. If I owned a business selling engines and saw one of my customers had this kind of attention to a problem, I would give that customer whatever engine he/she wanted and their choice of what shop they wanted to install it--- compliments of my business.... Whats 10 grand when i could loose 100 thousand or more. This company is dirt if they dont make good on this....

Let's call Sam and Dave

Not to get off subject, but check out the napa girl link.
Kind of makes one curious, if someone higher up on the food chain at NAPA were see this thread. Would NAPA want all the bad karma that could come raining down upon these engines that NAPA also sells. Blueprint may want to weigh that into their equation.

Just my .04 , use to be .02 but with inflation I had to go up

MS I'm with you and that's been my view all along (see my first post about 50 pages ago ).

I think that to this point they've been reasonably professional. I think that having it checked independantly gives you leverage that I'm sure they're aware of. Beyond that, it only appears that they shipped you a defective engine. If they replace it or refund your money, they've probably done what they're obligated to (assumig that they pick up all shipping).

Having said that, I'd hope that they'd spring for at least a stroker upgrade. Better yet, I'd like to see you put a big block in your 81 to see if it would fit in mine.

All the trouble you've been through? The time and effort to R&R the motor, the time your ride's been down, the reasonable compensation would be a replacement at no charge. If I were running this business and I supplied a defective motor, a replacement at no cost would be the settlement.

Hey OT......thanks for coming over!!

No problem, but it took 3 hours to read it and I've run out of beer.
I'm sure they'll do the right thing and supply you with a new engine. And I'll bet it's gone over with a fine toothed comb this time.

If not I'll be happy to post a link to this on the ImpalaSSforum, the NAISSO forum, and the 9C1 forum.
I'd post it on the V8Buick forum, but they don't do much with small block chevys.

PS, you might want to build your own engine in the future. It gives you a great deal of satisfaction when you get it installed and hit the key for the first time.

I don't remember what the physics are but I've seen this technique used elsewhere (Navy) on shaft seals. And I am assuming that's what they're being used for in this application.

Here is another interpretation of their purpose:

Sounds like a good reason to get out the wrenches and start tightening those bolts.

Every time I view this thread I keep thinking about the Peter Gabriel song Steam. Maybe we need a sound track.

What an interesting idea. I've been working on a song for the Ode to Bubba post but I think that I'll dust off my Peter Gabriel record (if I can remember how to play these) and work on one for this post instead. Seems only fitting. If I work fast enough, might even make post 1000 with it. Unbelievable.
