Is this your car?

The part with the arrow pointing to it is a hot air stove. It picks up heat from the exhaust and feeds it into the air cleaner when the eng is cold.

Not my car! I am just trying to get mine back to this point. That hot air stove sounds like a good part to have.

For $600 you can have a new stroker kit and you won't have to pull it.
Remember , that's money spend you could be using on a nice set of heads

I'm guessing the block was already .030 over and you are just gonna rering it.
If you're using the same pistons and just replacing the rings? A ball hone is easy to use and breaks the glaze. Use plenty of oil and watch a YouTube video on the technic. It's easy
The crank is much more involved!!! You have 2 choses, 1) leave it as is and install the same size bearings that came out.
2) take your crank to another shop and have them polish it too .001 over. It should be no more than $100 for the labor and another $50 for the over size bearings.
DO NOT try polishing yourself and hope it matches! Those clearances are critical to you motor staying together !!!
Give me a call if you not sure

As far as the crank is concerned, measuring the journals will tell you more than anything else. Providing they are within the limits specified in Vizard's book and the finish is correct you should be fine. You can manually polish the journal surfaces with 500 grit emery cloth, clean out the oil passages with q-tips and brakleen or some othr solvent, and it will likely be good to go. It's not a bad idea to drop it into the block and check clearances with plastigage just to be sure.

As a final check, you can also drop it into the block with a little oil on the bearings, torque down the main caps, and spin the crank around to check for sticking or drag. If you feel any 'tight' spots that's a sign that something's not right; the crank is either bent or there's an alignment issue with the main bearings...

I put a nearly identical kit in my 350 years ago, but dispensed with th hi-volume oil pump because of previous issues with hi-vo pumps flooding the heads with oil...

If you are asking how I know what to order, the machine shop told me to order (based on his measurments) .030 pistons, rings and std bearings. But I am not sure if that is what you are asking... Let me know!
