Hey 82BH
My purpose for this thread was twofold! I wanted to do a lot of work to my car and help others like myself. I am really thankful to all who have helped. I would read other threads and they were great for knowledge but found myself having questions I couldn't ask without a high jack! Hahaha! I am glad you are getting help through here too! Post up some pix of your car and feel free to ask these guys anything you would like on here.
Today is more practice day! Working on doing some ghost flames...I know some may not like it but I have to see if I can do it. This is a scrap door I picked up to test on...
I am going to shoot 1 coat with the tape on and one coat with it off just to see what it looks like. Then I will shoot 2 more coats of straight clear to see the results. May not do it on the car but kind of fun to play with......I know my flames aren't perfect but they work for this and being my first attempt I like them. HA!
Tape off
In theory here these flames should disappear with the next coat of clear but with 2 coats of flake, it should pop when the light hits then right. We shall see!
Man, a week of reading and studying really helped my painting skills I think! BTW I know about the sanding marks in the base I just messed up but was more worried about getting the clear straight and flat.
Ok need help here! Tape and paint around or take them out?
Taking them out looks like a chore and how do you reinstall?
Are they part of a weatherstrip kit?
