When I painted my last vette I swore I would never do it again.... its a lot of work and shortcuts that I took ended up costing me later..... But here I am wiser now from the experiences and about to do it again along with redoing the interior and building an engine to boot! But when the cars painted you will have a sense of accomplishment second to none.
Scott, looks like it all went down reasonably flat...you shouldn't have too much sanding to do. Again, before you start shooting base MAKE SURE your gun and tips are CLEAN...

I have resolved in my mind if it isn't perfect, as long as it isn't bad I will have for the most part accomplished a bucket list item and have a nice date car for me and my beautiful wife of 23 years!

Thanks for the tip Dave, (pun intended) it overall went well. My gun seemed to keep clogging and when that happened would in turn cause orange peel. I am going to shoot the GUIs coat tonight and sand the car this week to prepare for a Sat morning base shoot.
Sat can't get here soon enough!!!
Also noticed that you're shooting with the car on its wheels...I kinda like to have the car up on stands where it's a little easier to get the bottom areas covered...FYI...

That my friend was a lesson I learned the hard way! Hahaha!
My gosh bro! Sounds like you are talking to my wife about skin care or something!! Hahaha! What is rouge?
well it is... it's what all the cool guys in their Hawaiian shirts, lawn chairs, and NCRS judged Corvettes use (okay, I may have made the last part up - especially since my daily attire is Hawaiian shirts)
it's the polish you use to get shiney stainless bits
as for whether or not you use it to shine your wife up, that's really your business and TMI for the rest of us
Not sure what guide coat should look like but that was the worst spraying paint I ever used! I sure comes off easy and looks smooth after hit with 400 grit though! I feel a paint job coming in this weekend gang!!!!!
Be sure to get all that spray paint off the car...its not compatible with the paint system your using and can cause fish eyes or the paint to lift (I learned the hard way)..... Its wiser to use a dark alternate color of 2k primer like the sem brand stuff that comes in a spray can that way if you miss some your OK.

Well crap! I will stress about that until I finish now. Hahaha
I used actual guide coat not paint why would they make guide coat not compatible with your paint?
