I don't know a thing about painting, but I have a feeling everything will turn out well. Since following your post from day one with the engine, you have managed to do it right. You always get good advise so take a deep breath. You will be driving a fine looking C3 soon.

Wow! Thanks for the kind words!
I was able to work out the kinks and here is the base finished! I am am stoked!
Well this was going to be cool! Now I have to wet sand the whole car shoot another coat of base and then clear it. I waited 2 hours like they told me to. Ha! Oh well...
All in the process of learning I guess! Nothing comes easy for me I just have to work hard to stay ahead of the game!
For everyone working on your cars, do yourself a favor when something goes wrong (like tape pulling off your fresh paint) instead of throwing something, just laugh at it. It is the only I keep going. Hahahaha

you expected perfection the 1st time? now that's funny
it looks excellent. Honestly, I probably would have left it in the matte finish (I think the car looks excellent matte silver)
ummm... I don't remember where you asked about doing graphics in your 1st paint job.... graphics are for after you get a good base/clear; drive it for awhile; fix the chips then add some graphics....

don't let that above keep you from missing this:
NICE JOB! you're the only one who sees the flaws.
Hahaha! I don't think I ever asked! I just had to try my hand at taping off flames and thought by just adding pearl it would look cool. Thanks! Oh, no I didn't expect perfect!!! Ha!

"just" the most dangerous word in the rebuilder's dictionary (why don't I just...)
Although, I understand it's not limited to rebuilders - things that sound like a good idea, but aren't

Only it wouldn't hold up in matte base coat only... you need special matte paint for that. Regular base coat is not durable nor does it have proper UV inhibitors in it..
