Good luck with that. Time for a new direction. Vote Liberitarian. Off topic is a different forum.

yeah, but I don't want to have to click on a different forum. its like sitting around at the dinner table, just let the conversation flow and where ever it takes us, so be it. why compartmentalize? The c3 forum is the cool guys, we are the one's getting our hands dirty cuzz we got older cars that need more attention. a little politics to flavor the same old, "what cam should it get?" kinda posts, my eyes start to glaze over.....

I had a drill sergeant that used to say, hold out both hands, now wish in one and crap in the other - see which one fills up faster.... We haven't gotten a straight story out of Washington in many years, this current administration is the worst

y'all amaze me - we send our representatives to a swamp, and we expect something other than muck to come back to us... now, hold out your hands, close your eyes, and think that what you got in your hands from the swamp in Washington is gold - squishy, smelly gold.

we can talk politics? but really don't like talking about sh*t, thinking about sh*t, or even giving sh*t the time of day.... I'd rather talk Corvettes and how to make them faster.

Ok! I wasn't able to get a measuring pushrod yet but used a marker to check and it looks like I probably am about .100 off based on the wear pattern and what I have seen online. What say you guys? Is this acceptable or need a change?

I expect them to follow the fricken constitution, what difference does it make where the hell they are at. I have taken the same oath they have more than once and that so "support and defend the constitution". Don't make this personal with your lame attacks!!!

As Justice Marshall said (1798), the Courts interpret the Constitution - so that begs the question, whose interpretation do you wish to follow? The Warren Court - who was all about judicial activism? or the Robert's Court which is the opposite? Sure, we can debate this - but in the end of the day, whether you bleed blue or red - it comes down to a person decision based on what you believe. With Corvettes - it gives us a common ground... fighting is easy, it's peace that's hard.

As for the pushrods, don't guess.... I have a big stack of parts that were wrong guesses, it's cool when, after 20 years, you can use them - but I'm sure at some point inbetween then and now I could have used the money that is sitting idle in those parts.

As you said we can debate this but Corvettes are more fun... having said that, it doesn't take a court to know that most of what they are doing is flat flying in the face of the constitution, the wimp republicans don't have the cojones to do anything about it...

I think they push rods are too short but then I too am still learning about engine building.

As much work and planning you've been putting into this I have no doubt that it will and will put a hell of a smile on your face every time you step on the skinny pedal

That's cold. You know we'll never hear her fess up about that. She never did explain Vincent Foster's supposed suicide in the Travelgate episode. I have faith that FC will finish his project, and he'll have a sweet running Corvette.

I spent the better part of three years slugging it out in the political side of this forum, before one day the lights finally came on and I realized I was wasting a lot of valuable time trying to change people's minds to my point of view.

I've been here in the C3 section for about 6 years now and for the most part it's very enjoyable. I learn things from a lot of you guys and hopefully you guys learn a little from me as well. There was one jerk who tried to insult me here once, but he's made his character quite apparent so no biggie.

Honestly guys if you want to talk politics here on CF there is a venue for that and it's not here, and believe it or not I happen to agree with your opinions, bit I hang over here because I don't like trading insults with people. It's childish...

The whole point of this particular thread (at least from where I sit) was to help someone overcome their own doubts about whether or not they could accomplish th relatively herculean task of rebuilding a crippled engine at home for a minimum of outlay by learning from our combined pool of knowledge. That really makes me feel good. Engaging in opinion-dominated arguments? Not so much....
