No DP there Doug...see the vacuum dashpot sticking out of the right rear? Overall it's looking pretty nice. Hopefully we get some video of the dragster noise tomorrow!!
I will post video, no matter the outcome. You guys have stuck it out through thick and thin so you have earned the right to see it fire up. I just hope you don't get to see a piston come though the side! Hahaha anyone tell me at what point during the start up, I can stop puckering up and know all is well?

Everyone likes a trainwreck
You'll stop listening for "odd" noises with the motor you built the day you replace it with the "better" motor that you are going to build....
enough joking.... once the motor gets up to operating temperature and nothing is spewing or dripping rapidly out of the car (or burning or exploding, but that seemed a bit too obvious to point out)

between the exhaust manifolds of cylinders 1 and 3, there's a sensor there that doesn't look hook up, don't remember exactly what its for, engine overheat maybe? Don't remember, might want to check that. Might not hurt to post some more pictures....
Not sure of the sound will work It cuts in and out. Burnt a spark plug wire and had to make a mad dash to the store for more. It fires perfect first crank!!!!! I am stoked!

Grasshopper, welcome to the Phi Masta Blasta fraternity. You have now successfully assembled, installed, and started the legendary small-block Chevrolet engine in an automobile, and for that you truly deserve to be commended. There are presidents, heads of state, movie stars, and NFL quarterbacks that have never done nor will ever do that. You have experienced a rite of passage that only a small percentage of us mortals have accomplished, and regardless of whether or not that sucker blows up ten miles down the road YOU GOT IT STARTED and you are therefore now a member of a truly elite fraternity. Well done, comrade, and welcome to the Backyard Motor Builders Club of America.:woo hoo:
