I am so sad about the loss of life in our great state. Oklahoma will survive and I pray for all the families who lost everything in these storms. Tornados are the most devastating force in nature (IMO). I can't help but think of all the little babies who went to school today with hopes of the great Summer vacation ahead only to not make it home tonight. God rest their souls and bring peace that passeth all understanding to their families.

Anyone have a picture of what hdwr is used for the air dam I got for my car. It's just the stock piece but I am hoping I can get what I need at the local Hdwr store. Thanks!

I usually try to find the OEM bolt kits that the venders sell. They're usually cheap and save you a lot of headaches running back and forth to homedepot.

Most of parts catalogs from the vendors show the bolts. Looks like a full set can be had for no more than $9.00 plus shipping. Might be a great time to make a list and get in touch with Wilcox here on the forum.
I bought the hardware kit for those parts and its the same stuff you can get at the hardware store.. actually harbor freight sells the screw and clip kits for $7 .... more than you need....
+ one on the kits though...bought the complete interior kit from zip and I love the labeled Individual bags... can't wait till my new interior is finished.

Well I hadn't been able to post an update lately. I put 12 hours sanding, buffing and polishing the car this weekend and tonight my son put this in it ! I am so upset but it's not the end of the world, I just need to figure out how to fix it.
Any ideas??????
holy s---t bat man! Fat cat I feel your pain!keep your chin up.just a funny not so funny tid bit I have been following this post for a long time as I will soon hope to accomplish your feat with my newly aquired vette. last nite when you posted the "scratch" I actually gasp out loud while reading .my wife asked what was wrong and I had to entertain the idea of her understanding your under taking of this rebuild.she was amazed and you may have opened a few stuck doors for me!!!hope you fix it one plus is the paint has no fade from uv or abuse from weather, the color is a tough one to fade or blend but I am sure as always you will prevail good luck. Jim

Did it go through the clear? If not you might get away with just using 2000 grit sandpaper to sand it then buff it.
Tough on the quarter panel. Best way is to reshoot clear on back half.
I had a similar problem on my White 70 Convertible. We ended up re-shooting the clear on the entire back half behind the doors.

Yeah Bill, unfortunately that white you see in the photo is actually primer. Yup! All the way through the clear and base to the grey stuff! Not sure of I just have to sand the clear off and shoot the scratch then re-clear or if I have to sand base and the clear off.
Ouch! But I can't talk, I did it ti my fathers car.
After that he made a habit of throwing a sheet or blanket over the car. Mix up a batch of paint and touch it up for now. Its gonna be a driver so nicks and scratches will come with time
Wow.... that hurts. Don't know about you but after all that work I wouldn't be able to "touch it up" and go on. If it's down to the primer your going to have to base and clear it, not sure of how much of the panel.
I had a similar experience. My daughter was getting ready to leave and i asked her if I needed to move my car, she said no problem I can get out. Needless to say she backed into my all original paint 96 SS Impala and caved the drivers door in. I sort of laugh now but I can tell you I wasn't laughing then..... the s*** hit the fan...
