Well, since the Mighty-Vac is out, might as well test the climate control canisters. Two under dash and one behind driver. Other than one tube that needed to be reconnected, they all work fine.
I also tapped on all the panels to determine what is going to need some Rattle Trap. I have some left over from my last build. There are a lot of places that could use some.
You may run into a problem with that stuff you used due to the actual vacuum tank flexes when it has vacuum applied to it. Which is actually what caused these cracks to develop in the first place. I can say I hope the vacuum goes much higher than what you showed. It needs to be up around normal vacuum for the car. 15"-20"
Look at this thread did.
Look at the end of POST #15 and my reply there. Becasue I was in a state of flux deciding how I wanted to repair this and KNOW it would not crack again in those areas.
This car is so lucky you found it; you're very talented and diligent. You should open your own shop; heck you'd be swamped with work if you were in the States. Keep up the good work.

Aw shucks ! I may, when I retire, do just that.
Cut off a sample piece to be sent off to France to replicate a dye for Bright Blue. You can't ship paints, solvents, etc. by air... so, this is what we have. They will also include the necessary to repair leather, prime, etc.
So, after a bit of a back and forth with the company in France, they sent me another quart and it’s a poor color match as well.
After explorring around, I found a company that can ship hazardous goods overseas by air. All it really takes is proper labeling. All I needed now was to get the Safety Data Sheet from the retailer. Corvette Central was the first and only one to respond, so they get the business. I will be ordering a quart of Bright Blue - and this time I’ll be sure it’s as close as I can get to the original color over here in Europe.
In the meantime I made some progress on the shifter console. All four corners were cracked and the plate mounting brackets were also all gone. This made fixing it particularly challenging. I’m not finished yet but so far so good.
The next step was to patch the cracks and fabricate some brackets. Not an easy thing to combine both. I had some quality sheet metal left over so I shaped some strips to conform to the polyester and I bonded them to it. I am quite pleased with the results. Thee console has a solid feel now.
I’ve purchased several items from Corvette Central and so far been pleased with their items.
Wilcox is another great vendor on the Forum.
Did you contact them?
If not , I would.
