I don't get the "too young" thing but at 21, most people just make comments about "how much do you make" or one guy even said I'm living "beyond my means" so I told him, I paid cash for this car, don't be mad because I'm 21 with a Vette and you're 40 with a Honda Accord that has a car payment.
At any age people are gonna give you crap about driving a vette. when you are young you are too young, and its daddys car. when middle aged, you are going through a midlife crisis. when you are old you just have the car to try to be young again. just drive it and ignore the jealous people that say anything bad.
I could care less how old you are as long as you don't act like an azz! Now to the more important subject..............Discounts on tires for Forum members!!!!!
Used Corvettes are pretty inexpensive. Pretty much anyone can afford one these days. I'm not trying to offend anyone, I'm just upset I spent so much money on a car that isn't going to be worth much more than a used Honda in a few years. I should have bought a 911, they tend to hold their value much better.

Congrats ! I could not afford my Z06 until I was 31 (Paid off College, got a house, got married, got a daily car for her and I, new baby...etc...). I feel lucky I was able to get it at 31 yrs and i'm the only one in the house working !
People can say what they want about "being too young" to handel a corvette.... Its how responsible you drive it that counts. Don't listen to them, and play safe out there !
I'm 20 at the moment and I'm actually shopping for my first C5. I had a 90 I just sold. I love Corvettes. It's a passion! If people don't get that, I could care less what they think or say! I work full-time and go to school part-time(online). I work to darn hard, not to enjoy life. You only live once. If you can do it within your means, hey why not? Judging by your first post, you seem like a responsible person, who definitly has there priorities right, with school and all. From a 20 year old to another 20 year old...... Have some fun and enjoy!!!

20 years old with an Associates degree and you can't spell "too". What school you went?
You're not too young! Just heed the words of fellow forum members (i.e. don't drive like an idiot or above your/your car's abilities, etc.). I bought my first Vette when I was 24; Mag Red 2000 Coupe A4. Bought my second one (current one) at 26; Black 2002 Z06.
P.S. Beautiful car, but the ride height looks a little high. Thought about lowering it 1/2" - 1" drop? Good luck! Congradulations!

Ok, I couldn't stand it. First of all, Congrats on the Z06 at such a young age, coyotecr5. I bought my first vette at age 19. Always loved them, but thought they were a "dream" car. I now own my seventh Corvette, a 2001 Z06. For reactor2, I'm sorry you are not happy with your vette. I love Porsches also, but Corvette is different and as American as apple pie, baseball, and Chevrolet. I bought my Z06 for a daily driver and have never bought a vette as an investment. I realize that a lot of people do buy vettes based on their depreciation value, but I buy them to drive and enjoy. It has never crossed my mind on how much the vette I am buying would be worth in 3-5 years. I love driving the Corvette and will leave the Porsche to someone who garages their car for resale value. Not to offend anyone, but I will take the inexpensive Corvette any day.
