Finally got a chance to do some more playing around. I gave up on trying to bust the leak from the clear top, so I put on my solid top. Ironically this one has the original 12 year old weather stripping with chunks missing out the rear, but I'll be darned, it does not leak when I hit it with a hose and I only made one adjustment on it. Even worse the clear top was off a 04 garage queen and the seals look in perfect shape and it leaks.
My only theory is the clear top flexes and just doesn't seal the way the solid top does. Perhaps it's time to carry both tops around
Has anybody else had this problem? The clear top leaks but solid does not.
In the mean time, I will continue to drive my car around with no interior and then wait til the next time it heavy rains to see if I missed any leaks
so what size Torx bit do i need to remove the top seat belt bolt so i can remove that trim?
that's the only thing standing between me & a gutted interior. i got that carpet out with them still in place but ripped it a little & don't want to try & put it back with the trim in the way. that & i want to get a RTV seal around the window

since everybody apparently forgot, i just bought a handfull of bits & it takes a T-50. it was a pretty tight fit, but it works fine with some elbow grease.
i reckon tomorrow's the day for the RTV now that everything's finally out
I searched Corvetteaction center and this forum, hope someone can shed some light I've had issues with my driver side leaking, there is a ton of water that accumulates behind the seat. I finally narrowed down where it is coming from, looks like it is leaking from the door sill. This probably means the door itself is leaking anyone know where this source of water is?
I should mention the car was not driven, it was just sitting there. As you can see I removed the carpet and all the trim except the door itself, but I don't have access to a garage today and I'm not about to tear apart the door in the pouring down rain

Hell,, I wa just in Baltimore not long ago! I was born and raised there.
Pull up your sill covers and you will be able to get a better idea where the water is pouring in from.
The hinges are an area to keep an I on. I sealed mine.
Once you have the sil cover off you will better be able to pin point the leak path. If you had a ZO6, I would have told you the roof where the top, windshield meet wa the issue. Here is where the water fron that area drips from:

that's where both sides of mine was coming in from as well as behind the top-rear corners of the weather stripping.
turns out it's got a replacement windshield & whoever installed it didn't exactly do the best job reinstalling the side trim & also ended up caulking the weather strips in some spots that blocked the rain channel flow which redirected the water right into my floorboards

I looked through but didn't see my issue covered here. I just bought an 02z, and I'm having a leak issue. When I washed the car, water was streaming into the passenger foot well. A few days later it snowed and when I was finally able to get to the car, there was perspiration all over the windshield inside. Any ideas where I can start? I looked through the Corvette action center, and none of their fixes worked.
Until you can fix the real source of the leak ( ROOF, Windshield, drip rail seal) make a temp repair like I did.
Remove the passengers side carpet. Clean it, dry it and set it aside.
Remove the door sill plastic covers:
Purchase a big tube of Black RTV Silicon sealer. Build a FAT bead of sealer starting from the upright Fame A pillar all the way back as far as you can go. This bead (water dam) will keep the leak on the OUTSIDE of the car. The water that leaks in will run out instead of in the car. You wont fix the leak but you will resolve the water intrusion issue.
Ive be dry for a LONG time using this procedure. RECOMMEND leaving the carpets and cover off and giving it a good water down with a hose and make sue you dam is working. I had to put some silicone sealer on the vertical A pillar also..

Thanks Bill, I appreciate the fast reply!!! I'll be trying that out in the next day or so.
I notice my A/C was not blowing as cold the other day at least not on the drivers side, when I checked the A/C fitting where you put the freon in I noticed you could here it leaking and when I took the cap off it got even louder, anyone know why all of a sudden this would just start leaking from the valve? also is there a way to tighten this with a A/C valve type tool? help please it's going to get hot here soon in Florida.

It is a schrader valve just like the tires. It has a rubber seal on the end of it. It is either loose or the seal is rotted. I had one rot before.Either way at this point take it to get it evac'ed and filled you probably have lost some freon and get them to replace the valve. If you DIY you are going to have to loose all your freon and refill anyway.
Thanks for the advice I did happen to check at the local auto parts store and they do sell the valves in a 3 pack and the shrader valve tool separately, depending on the local A/C shop price I might do it myself.
Bill, I'm still having issues with my leak. I've checked all the udders and the drain on the right side, all perfectly clear. I also found some debris inside the glove box, under the door, on the left side. So if you open up the glove box, on the left, on the felt down by the hinge there is debris and it's wet. I'm assuming that's one of the tracks that the water is following through. So now I have decided I'm just going to pull the dash out and run everything down with a hose and find out where it's coming from. Oh joy this should be fun.
Has anybody tried attaching some meshing like the stuff covering the fog lights on the front bumper? Seems it would help keep the big leaves, bugs and other road crap out .
I do have one question though.....Is it commom to have a few to several drops of water collect on the door sill after a rain or wash ?
No you shouldn't get ANY water. Cars are water tested at the factory (at least Jeeps are) and there shouldn't be any leaks. Sounds like your weather stripping is getting a little worn out.

I cleaned out my passenger-side cowl drain (udder) today and took some pictures to add to Bill's excellent pictures.
It was a bit challenging to get the drain reattached to the hole in the cowl. Finally had to get my wife's small mirror to look back up in there while I poked and prodded the drain back into the hole in the cowl.
