Took delivery this afternoon. After a thorough inspection drove the new Stingray 30 miles home(drove Great). Pulled into the driveway and could not open the driver door; either from the inside or outside. Had to use the door release on the floor. Drove to a dealer close to my home (not the dealer where I purchased the Vette). They are thinking it may be a software issue and will be driving it back this Monday for them to attempt reprogram of the software. When I try to open the door it sounds like the gas door actuator is working. I'm hoping this is just a small glitch and not a sign of continuing issues.......please pipe in if this issue has been experienced by anyone else......Thanks!
I've noticed that when the car is running the door will remained lock and you must manually unlock first then push the door release. Obviously built-in safety.

On my C6 if running in park just hit the button, opens no using
the unlock button. If letting someone out on the passenger
side, you do not have to put in park or touch the unlock
button just use the release and get out. Always been that way.
And, may I ask, how do you recommend we put our manl shift cars in Park?
In mine, it is as stated in posts above: if you have not shut it down, the door unlock button allows the door opener button to work just fine. It isn't a transmission-related situation.

Yep. Mine is a manual and my mom almost plowed through the door because it was locked. There should be a "chime" of some sort if the door is locked and someone is trying to open the door.

Hopefully Top Down Tech will come out with a Window Valet for the C7. Thier Window Valet for the C6 has an option to unlock the doors when the E-brake is applied.
All due respect, but I can not accept the wheel crunch as "normal." I've had a C4 and currently have C5 and traded in C6 for C7 and none of the prior cars had this wheel hop. It is unacceptable and with all the brilliant engineering in the C7 this is an embarrassment to the Engineering Group.

Perhaps you're thinking of something else?
C4s, C5s and C6s I've owned ALL do this. It has to do with tire width and suspension geometry.

Too Funny......guess I have to keep a smile in lieu of my frustration.
This morning woke up and the driver door was working again. This afternoon I paired my phone........door again would not open. I tried unlocking the door with the door panel lock; no luck. Then decided to unlock using my key; door working again. (at least for now).
I noticed that when I open the driver door, engine off, the dash lights and the center information center come on. When I close the door the dash lights and center information center go off. All of this without starting the Vette. Can anyone tell me if your Corvettes do the same? I am still thinking that there is a software issue. Going back to the Dealer tomorrow morning and hope to get some answers and hopefully a fix. Yesterday the technician actually came out to the service desk and was interested in getting his hands on the Vette. He mentioned that they have not had any issues and was looking forward to trouble shooting. Personally, I would rather keep my baby and drive it
We had a 3 hour drive from the dealership after picking up my Stingray. After two hours of driving the XM radio randomly changed channels and the A/C window on the screen kept popping up and down. Stopping and shutting the car down and restarting did not fix the issue. I will be contacting the dealer for resolution. Also drivers seat had exacto blade marks on it. Will have it addressed as well.
This is exactly what mine in post #5 was doing. Radio unit was replaced after being in the shop for 8 days.
At the request of members, I am creating this thread for ACTUAL owners to post about ACTUAL problems. This will get all of the issues together in one location and allow other owners and would be owners to learn about the issues that owners are experiencing or discovering.
What's allowed:
Factual accounts of issues you encounter as a real owner of a real car. Provide as much detail and documentation as you are able to talk about the issue.
Factual accounts or updates regarding resolution of issues that you or your dealer provided to solve a problem with your Stingray. If you solve a problem and post a separate update, please edit your original post that it was resolved and refernce the post with the update if possible.
What's not allowed (This will be strictly enforced):
Anecdotal comments about first year models.
Comments about other model year Corvettes (even if they may relate to current equipment.)
Stories or issues you read about on other forums.
Posting about a problem "your friend" had with their car.
Posting that "your car is fine" or "I didn't have that problem."
The intent of this thread is to collect data and provide information for people who own a 2014 Corvette Stingray. Hopefully we will see both problems and resolutions and allow a place for folks to learn how to deal with issues that they encounter. If you can provide content information (equipment group, options, etc.) about your car that would be welcome. If you can provide photos of the issue or video of the behaviour, that would be welcome. If are willing to post your VIN number, that would be helpful so that others with VIN's in a nearby range can relate.
Let's see if we can keep this thread on topic and make it a useful place for new and would be owners to learn what is going on.
Just got the car back on Friday and almost died on Saturday...
One day with my new c7 and after I installed the targa top I got a broken windshield , just got her back Friday and yesterday while on track mode selection with rev matching on the car while running at 40 miles on a turn it went hey wire and locked all 4 wheels and jumped to a dead stop, a miracle the cars behind me did not crash on me, trans made horrific noise and start smelling.....also other electronic problems
690 miles on the C7 Z51
Hell of a day yesterday, after all the fun with the C7 tow truck broke down on the way to dealer, picture is the transfer from flat bed to flat bed!

Theo please keep us posted... that is not some ******** problem... this could be life threatening at a rapid pace for all the owners, passengers and people driving around us! Glad you are okay and no one was hurt!
This thread does not make me feel warm and squishy. It seems like we are having way more issues way earlier than any other launch model. I will report my issues as I try to get them more sorted out with the dealer.

Only because this is a thread specifically for issues. If there was a thread like this when the C6s first debuted, it would have likely been the same if not worse.

I was around for the C6 launch. I don't remember this many severe issues within the first month of delivery. Maybe they did but hearing a C7 locked all four wheels at 40 makes me have visions of final destination when I'm doing some spirited driving on winding roads with 1000' drop offs.
Actually it is acceptable although it's very new for me as well. These are not conventional tires found on conventional cars. They're high performance very low profile very wide tires. They have different characteristics than tires most folk are used to. When you 1st start out and the tires are cool, they can/probably will make these crunchy noises but stop in less than a quarter mile. Even according to the manual it's normal and to be expected.
The option is to not drive a car that requires this type of tire.
If you're an owner, please refer to the manual. If not an owner of a C6 or C7 and don't have this type of tire, then please don't respond as not acceptable.

Please let us know what you learn. I have to bring my car back to dealership on Thursday to have an engineer look it. I also have electronic issue that can't be solved by dealership level trouble shooting.
Sorry about your car,
Stephen
