Use a 160 gig iPod, with approx 110 gigs music (29K+ songs). Initially, works fine but eventually locks up entirely. Can not play, browse or otherwise use iPod at all. Have tried both the center console and infotainment USB plugs. Same outcome on both.
When unplugging the iPod, I have to reboot as it is locked up in the connected to GM mode.
Have gone thru all the posts on this thread and only related topic approaching this appears to be Memory Cards & indexing a large number of songs or files.
Switching between radio stations using the steering wheel controls.
If you click it too fast, it will show in the DIC it's going to one radio station, but the center screen will show a different radio station (and will be the one actually played). This is pretty annoying since I know the order of the stations by heart and I like to quickly skip directly to the one I want simply by hitting UP or DOWN a couple times quickly.
Another issue is how slow it is to change stations. I press the UP or DOWN buttons on the steering wheel and... 1 second later... the DIC screen changes to the station list. Then the highlighted station changes, and... 1-2 seconds later... The radio finally plays that station. But then the list goes away quickly while you were listening for 1-2 seconds to see what was on that station and you have to do it all over again. So to "surf" through all the stations in my list (12 stations), it takes a very long time. Which is frustrating at best.
One of the things that's actually starting to really bug me is changing the driving mode. Sometimes when I turn the dial, the modes go the opposite direction that I turned the dial. THIS is definitely frustrating. If I'm in Sport mode and I want to go to Tour or Eco, sometimes It goes to Track instead.
If I try to change the driver modes quickly, it's a 50/50 chance I'll get the mode I wanted. Sometimes it doesn't read the turn at all... So I'll try to change the mode again, when suddenly the modes will change (without an animation) which seems to be working from the first time I tried, and now that I've made a second attempt, I get put into a mode (again without animation) that I don't want to be in.
I think the MAJOR lag in the controls for both the infotainment system and the DIC screen is causing a lot of frustration for me. I have no idea when it's working and when it's not. I'd say I run into this 1 out of every 3 times I drive the car. I do switch modes often. I go between Sport and Eco a lot. Honestly, I'm not sure why I'd ever use Tour mode when it's identical to Eco other than AFM. If I'm using tour mode, it's because I want to hear my passenger better, and AFM being active makes it easier. So I rarely use Tour.
The mode selections should have been in this order:

I see the mode switching lag, and the sometimes random mode switching the opposite way if you do it fast as well. And it is annoying. As for Eco vs tour mode, I disagree. Eco mode (according to the specs) changes the exhaust and APM, not just APM, and it seems to want to downshift (in autos) less often -- or perhaps not switch to "performance shift". As such, the order they put them in is correct, but perhaps an option to hide/auto skip modes you don't ever use would be nice. I'd also remember the last mode you were in when restarting the car always. The center console is slow to boot, the touch is very insensitive, and so slow to respond/react that pinch to zoom/swipe is useless.

I think you need to bring your car in for service. I have almost none of those problems your speaking of. The memory for the seats is the only issue all of us are having if you have the manual 7 speed. The auto's don't work the same way, and that's really the issue. There will be no fix anytime soon for this one problem if at all. I got to speak to a GM area manager while my car was in for the dim flash last week. At this point he told me, it was designed and working the way it should although he did see my point.
I have to say that I have only grown to love this car more each day that I have the pleasure of driving it. It is a terrific ride in every sense. The rave reviews are all true. The problems I mentioned earlier are not significant enough for me to feel that I need to visit the service department and can wait until the scheduled maintenance.
I have people photographing the car at every intersection and every parking lot. People in stores will laugh with me at all the attention. One guy driving by saw me sitting in the car and wanted to sell me a home theater since he figured I could afford it. Folks are always asking if this is the new Stingray. My son, who just returned from Afghanistan, told me that it is the most beautiful car he has ever seen. (I have the night race blue paint with red calipers that pop). It is pretty evident that this edition will revive the marque and the motor company. Way to go GM, Chevy and Corvette Design Team!

Yes to both. Think of these two items as "features" rather than "issues" to avoid being frustrated; that's what I do. Also, if the lag time was eliminated, then the inconsistencies would be less frustrating.

I absolutely love my C7. Only complaint is the sorry paint job,ORANGE PEEL!!!! GM should have a fix for this !
I took my car in for a few issues, one of them being Orange Peel on my lower panels and a GM Engineer came out and said "Paint was heavy by design" I'm serious! LMAO.

Yeah, that skip idea isn't a bad idea at all. I'd love to just completely get rid of Tour mode all together. If it does indeed have more to do with the auto, then it won't matter at all for me since I drive a manual.

HAHA! I'm not going to pretend that it going to one mode or station when I asked for another is a "feature". Although, sometimes when we introduce a new bug into our software that our QA catches, we just say, "That's not a bug. It's a feature." LOL (Sometimes it works. )
Yes, I do agree that if that lag wasn't there, this would be far less frustrating.
I've got one grey armrest and one black armrest on a 2lt grey interior vert. Did not notice it until today after driving over 1000 miles. It is the driver's side that is black. Back to the dealer I go for a warranty swap.
I've got #307, delivered on October 4th following serving several weeks penance in Nashville. Tonight I read this entire thread to see what applies to mine. It's been in storage with 500 miles since early Nov. so I was curious to see what issues others are experiencing. Before I parked it the HVAC issue was definitely one I had as was the brake squeal and several rattles. Sounds like the flash will take care of the former but have there been any real solutions to the brake noise? It will be April until back on the road here in MN, so it will be good to bring it to the dealer with a list and the appropriate fixes available. By that time things should be sorted out. The rear hatch closing on mine is not extremely difficult but what bugs me about it is the way the new technology with the 'metal strip' was promoted as being such a great breakthrough and being the first application of this to allow the hatch to close with ease. Obviously this was not ready for prime time-along with several other things...
I've owned an early '84 (still have it) a '97, and an '05 which I kept as well. Unfortunately the C7 seems to be causing me the most concern this early on, which surprises me.

My C7 is #4930. I did live in Minnesota for quite a few years. I'm now in Texas so I get to drive my C7 just about every day. I have 1600+ miles on the car now. I did notice the brake squeal at first but it seems that it has gone away or at least I haven't experienced it the last few times I've taken it out. The HVAC problem was resolved before my car was built so I didn't have that problem. The hatch closing was annoying at first, but I think we have gotten used to it because it doesn't seem to be an issue any more. Hope this helps and I hope spring comes soon for you. The car is amazing.
I've noticed mine works intermittently also. I'm not positive yet, but may have found the reason and I think it's written somewhere too, maybe in the manual. I've made sure (lately) even in the garage that the brake was 'on' when I shut down the car. So far it seems to work when I get in and start up, if the brake was already on, then one button push seems to work. Some others should try it and give feedback.
Note: I have the A6 and I'm sure it doesn't work automatically if I've pulled the selector out of park.
I have tried the memory button with the Parking Brake on and with it off. The button will work some times and other times I have to hold the button until everything gets into position. The Parking Brake doesn't seems to make a difference. I have the M7 trans.
I checked the Owners Manual, page 3-4:
So if the car is off and P-brake not set, you have to hold the button down. If it is running or P-brake is set like mine is, you just press and release the button. That's what is working intermittently on my car. The easy exit function works every time. I am going to try the auto memory recall function and see if that works.
Thank you for the help. Mucho appreciated. I will make sure to get both items updated.... Diff fluid and software update. Thank you
Question.... How will we know if there was any damage as a result of the low diff fluid? Will the dealer check the gear and mechanical items- not just top off the fluid?
Brian
Hi Brian,
You are very welcome! I am glad that you got everything taken care of at your dealership. You are all set now since they topped off your diff fluid.
Enjoy!

Kelly J.- going to put you on the spot again, does GM plan to have a recall/replacement from a different manufacturer for this issue about April?
Thanks
LOL thanks for putting me on the spot, Time. With this one I do not mind at all. We are working on getting a plan together for the center console concerns. I do know that this concern has been reported to the appropriate departments. I do not have a plan just yet, but when something becomes available, I will let y'all know ASAP.
Can you tell me when my car was "born'? I ordered a 2LT but was lucky enough to purchased a 3LT that another had cancelled so I am not sure about the date created. Just been wondering about updates and the diff fluid, etc.
VIN # XE5107315. Happy New Year!!
