If you have a tight budget, you could go with this product. I did my entire interior with it. Not only does it reduce road noise, it's cooler in the Florida heat too! I used a 4" foam paint roller (with the foam ripped off) as an applicator. It was a fun project actually.

I didn't measure before and after. Although, once I got everything put back together, the first time my wife went on a ride with me, she commented right away that it seemed quieter and she didn't even know I was doing this. I had it all apart doing my widebody conversion so she didn't see the sound deadening going in. I did it in stages. When I did the rear hatch area including the rear wheel wells, the road noise was greatly reduced. I think the doors were the next thing most noticeable.
I've used Crazy Cowboy's insulation kits in 3 Vettes including my current 19 GS. He kits have all the pieces pre-cut. There are multiple threads on the forum with great DIY instructions. Doing it solo, took me two days. Yes, I was going slow and being careful.
I installed some NVX 9mm butyl sound deadening recently. I put it on the floor, both sides of the tunnel, on the bulkhead behind the seats, and on the trunk floor. I did not cover the channels housing wiring, or over the metal plate in the passenger side at the firewall. My measures were made on a blacktop interstate going 70. Before was 72 DB. After was 69 DB.

I covered the tops (insides) of the wheel wells and inside the doors without issue.

FYI, when doing sound proofing, I’m pretty sure the elevated plate on the passenger side firewall covers either the ECM or the BCM. The space around it should not be covered as it allows airflow to cool it down. Best to cut around it and leave the gap in tact.
the shape of the roller for bonding the sound deadening to the surface looks like a wallpaper seam roller which i already had. It worked for most of the job but eventually broke. Avoid that frustration, bite the bullet and get the metal roller.
also, if you have an iPhone, there’s a free app called decibel X for taking before and after measurements.
if you’re doing the doors and have taken off the door panels, that’s a good time to install window tint. A good tint will eliminate UV and reduce IR.

Absolutely none. I did this on my C5 and it did absolutely nothing for sound deadening. Anyone who thinks it is is lying to themselves. Maybe it does lower the decibels by 1 or 2 but that's not enough to notice a difference and definitely doesn't warrant the hassle of installing it.

I agree. For me the perceived reduction was non-existent. People also say new run flats are quieter than the 10yr old originals and for me the noise is the exact same.
I personally have helped on a few of these projects, truthfully it did not solve the problem with the noise they were attempting to eliminate.. it was a harmonic resonance that it could not hide. In my humble opinion I like hearing the engine and the road, makes me feel more connected to my surrounding when driving fast. Maybe skip the soundproofing and get headers?
I installed the double extreme insulation kit in my 19 GS (took a long weekend for this old fart). The instructions were very helpful and the way the pieces were cut and labeled really helped. The kit cut down on the heat and noise. Good luck.

If you are looking to turn your car into a Cadillac, this product is not for you. The Blockit is designed to quiet down/take the edge off of tire, road and some exhaust noise in 60 seconds.

While commuting to work this morning on the freeway I really did notice a difference. I did not have to crank the radio way up and the voices and music were much clearer.
If you are looking for a real easy sound insulation solution I would recommend this product.

I will not get to take the Z06 out until spring, but I can tell you that there is a substantial difference in the noise factor just sitting in the car and listening to it run.

The pads aren't cheap, and do add weight, but they attenuate much of the most annoying noise from the back of the car. IMO worth the money.
