My current car is supercharged and makes 771whp so I know all about timing and heat soak lol. I always got mad at the dumbasses who left their AC on and dripped water on the track.

I can row gears really well, this will be my first auto that's why I was so interested in technique. I have never had the track prep help a regular radial street tire that much before, but maybe on these cars it's the difference maker.

Do you run at Richmond or Va Motorsports Park? Either is about 200 miles from me, it would be fun to meet fellow enthusiasts as this will be my first Corvette.
Depends on the night. Mostly Richmond but sometimes Dinwiddie, which is VA motorsports park.

Maybe it's because I have posted hundreds of track youtube videos, it comes naturally to me. I also have an A8 Z51 on order and I was curious about what technique is used to get those times, and you can learn a lot more from video than from someone typing out what they did.
There are other vids of guys cutting 1.6 60' times on stock runflats in stock A6 C7s, check out Snormans vids.

Fall 2014 Va Motorsports Park
Ran an 11.42 in this video on Drag Radials, later that night ran an 11.50 on stock tires. The times improved every week as the Temperature Dropped and the DA improved. Rock (the announcer) did a great job, but, did not understand what we were trying to achieve.

We think it's only a matter of time before the Z-51 A8's take over the fast list with their faster shifts, 4:56 1st Gear & 2:73 Rear. We ordered my car as light as possible 1LT. We studied SNORMAN'S video and everything he posted on the Corvette Forum. We tried every launch combination to equal his 1.68 60' time! As fall arrived it began to pay off. SNORMAN said he thought he could have run 11.30's . He was right. Without going into detail, everything has to be perfect in this order:

A= Track Prep
B= Launch
C= D.A.

We feel SNORMAN WAS AND STILL IS #1
LOVE TO HAVE A MATCH RACE WITH HIM SOMEDAY!!!

The A6's are nice but one of the real secrets to the better 60 ft. times with the C7 is the fact that GM "finally" wised up and put a looser converter in the C7. Approx. a 2500 rpm stall compared to the approx. 1500 stall in the A6 C6. They should of done that years ago for the C6.

Not sure it is 2500, the car want to start moving at 2200 where the brakes are not wanting to hold anymore. I would be awesome it is was 2500 though.

That's why I said "approx." some people have stronger legs than others.

My C6 A6 would launch nice at 1200 rpm and I could torture it to get it to 1500 rpm but the 60 fts. would be slower. I have also read a post or two here where the owner "said" he had launch his C7 A6 at 2500 rpm's.

I have found that taking any converter as high as it will go on the brake pedal (brake stall) never produced the best 60 ft. times. I think flashing the converter works best. The experts say "flash stall" will produce a higher stall rpm than what would be produced using the brake pedal.

I copied and pasted from Rangers thread in the C6 Z06 section. Wasnt much I had to modify to apply to the C7. I'll do my best to update as often as possible as the posts come in.

Here are the copied rules....

The Fast List, found at the end of Post #1 of this thread, is open for additions as submissions are received and validated.

The Fast List has five sub-lists.

Bone-Stock on Stock Tires. This means completely stock with no performance changes whatsoever; stock exhaust, stock airpath, stock “untuned” and ""never-tuned" computer (ECU/PCM), etc.

Bone-Stock, except Non-Stock Tires including drag radials. Otherwise, the same requirement as above.

Bolt-Ons without Internal Engine Modification (e.g. modified air-path, headers, PCM-tune, aftermarket clutch, non-stock rear gears, skinny front tires)

Internal Engine Mods plus Bolt-Ons (e.g. stock displacement with bolt-ons plus heads and/or cam)

Power Adders (Nitrous, Turbo, Supercharger) and Non-Stock Displacement

Rules:
In proposing submissions for inclusion on the list, please follow these simple rules

Rule #1. Post the details of your quarter-mile pass using this template:
Note: your submission won't be acted upon unless it is in the format below. This requirement applies to each new Personal Best.

Year of the C7:
Tires used on the pass:
Performance Mods (if any):
Category submitted for:
60'.............
330'...........
660'...........
660’ mph...
1000'..........
1320'..........
1320’ mph…
Name of the track:
Date of pass:
Weather conditions: (include Density Altitude, if known):

Image of complete Time Slip:

Link to Video:

Rule #2. Times that may qualify for the top-20 in each category require posting of an image of the complete time slip. If you lack the ability to post an image, contact me via PM, and I will help you. Edit for Clarification (Sep 3 2007): "time slip" means full time slip. Must include date/time of the pass and customarily includes identification of the track issuing the slip. Image should be in the vertical orientation and the numbers must be legible. Edit for Clarification (Jan 10 2011) A time slip is encouraged for all submissions as a means of improving documentation of accomplishments and increasing credibility of the Fast List.

Rule #3. Track times will not be corrected for weather or track altitude. Those elements can be noted in the comment portion of the submission to clarify the conditions under which the run was made. If interest merits, we can include a single category for fast times at tracks with altitudes, say, above 3000’ for the official track elevation. Please let us know if there is interest in such a category.

Rule #4. All members are invited to submit his/her times on this thread. The top 50 or so for each category will be included in the Fast List. Only one pass per member per car-model per category will be included on the Fast List.

Rule #5. In the event two members submit a 1320’ ET identical to the thousandth of a second, the tiebreaker is the higher 1320’ mph.

Rule #6. (Oct 20 2010): Stating explicitly a rule applied to all submissions since the Fast List's inception, in order for your track results to be included on it, they must be plausible, probable and credible. The time slip must match the capabilities of the car.

Clarification (Oct 20 2010): A car with a tuned (modified file) PCM or a non-OEM PCM is not eligible for either of the two stock classes thereafter. This means once tuned, always tuned.

That's awesome! I have a 1LT A8 Z51 on order but I don't think the track prep down here will be good enough to go after times like that. Our DA get's really good (100 ft physical elevation), in fact it is -1049 right now. I just don't think the track will hold it.

And the fact that the LT1 makes more low end torque helps the car move out quicker as well as increase stall speed.

You are right and that is why I said "one". The HP/TQ are in the LT1 specs./dyno so not so much of a secret.
