Hey Maxx,

ZAD = 2008 Model year LS7
33 = Built at Wixom PBC on line A3
160 = Julian build date June 8
28 = Built on A3 during 2008
07 = 7th engine from A3 that day

So yours was built near the end of 2008 model production."

Hope that helps if you can the codes for the C8.
Thank you for posting this. Based on that, it would show my engine was built on March 12th and that tracks with when mine was being built.

Default Leak found

I picked up my car at the museum and it was incredible. We did as much of the bourbon trail as possible. Most were closed. We arrived home yesterday and I put my car in the garage. I pulled it out today to wash it and found a puddle of fluid behind and inside the right front tire. The color of the fluid was clear and maybe golden. There is a plate/cover inside of the right front tire that is wet with what I think is the same fluid. I think it might be brake fluid. Any ideas?

Default Check engine light

This light came on a few days after I took delivery. Dropped the car off at dealer, they informed me that it was an EVAP problem and it would take two weeks to get a replacement part (plastic tube). The service advisor took care of me (thank you Brittney at Hendrick!) and the tech installed a temporary rubber hose so I could drive the car until the part arrived. Parts are not available off the shelf as the platform is too new, parts are made on an "as needed" basis.

Codes on mine at 63 miles, were P0300 and P050D, which was triggered by the broken valve spring. The one thing that saved me is it happened while cooling down in my garage, and I shut the motor down at once. If it had happened on the road, may have trashed the engine. Good news is they are bring mine back later today. First 3 weeks has not been smooth. So I hope that resolve s the issue and no more problems.

Do you mean P0868? That means Low trans fluid pressure. I had that happen on my car, brought it in to the dealer, and they said nothing wrong and reset all the codes (the Check engine light actually went off by itself the day I took it into the dealer).

Note to moderators: If there is a good webpage that describes the diagnostic codes for the C8 it would be nice to make it a sticky.

Happy to say 294

is back together, 16 new valve springs. Four rounds of disinfecting the car and a few hours of UV bath. Alive and running well.

The whole car is dependable, they don't have 14,000+ cars that aren't drivable. People with problems tend to look to forums for additional info, skews the perception of problems.

Vin #727 -
1,600 miles
Current issue: Infotainment system down. (Center screen, all but backup camera, Onstar, all down currently).
Likely cause: Radio control module internal failure.
Current status: Reported the issue to the dealer on Saturday, stopped by to start warranty process. After some research found I wasn't the only person seeing this failure. At least one other car online had the same issue, final cause was radio control module. Hope they're able to order the part. Car drives fine but it's a really annoying to not have any audio, phone, navigation, etc.

I had the same thing happen, but with different DTC code (P0700, P0868, P0815). Even though the light went off, I decided to take it in since GM emailed and texted me to take it to the dealer when the codes first came on. Did this to ensure there would be NO issues later if something did happen. Dealer said nothing was wrong and reset codes. Atleast I now have documentation saying there was nothing wrong and the codes reset by the dealer (even though I could've done it with my own OBD reader). With this C8 and all the electrical gremlins SOME of us are having, I encourage you to pick up an OBD reader...not expensive, and easy to plug in, read codes, reset, etc...

Update, since the C8 HTC got back from having all 16 valve springs replaced, and the disinfection process done. The car is running excellent, won't be to many miles here in ILL, with the Z51 one package--- warm days are ending. Might get a few short drives in. So for those with minor issues, hope this helps. Once the problems are corrected, the car runs and handles well, equal to perhaps even better than the Maserati Bora and Merak's I've had over the years. Good machine.

One strange note, for everyone. The onscreen vehicle manager has the option of motor sounds. One being stealth, but the owners manual clearly states selecting this option could lead to damage. Not quite sure why it's a selectable option if damage can occur. Question for some research.

That note is in this section of the manual: “Track Events and Competitive Driving (Z51 Only)”

So don’t track your car with the exhaust in “Stealth” mode, that makes sense actually.
